Chompom is a Companion that the player can bring along on a run. They are exclusive to the Snowdwellers Tribe.

Strategy

Chompom is a key player in any deck that can build Shell, as they can attack quickly and use their Shell to boost their attack. With enough reliable sources of Shell, they can very efficiently serve as both offense and defense. If the deck doesn't have the ability to reach extremely high stacks of Shell, it will likely be worthwhile to have another card fulilling a defensive role to keep Chompom's damage intact.

Chompom's base health is just enough that they can survive the health loss from the Nutshell Cake, getting an enormous damage boost. However, if Chompom becomes injured from the Bell of Death or the injured Companion event, they will not have enough health. The Nutshell Cake is also at odds with the Moko Charm, one of the best Charms for Chompom, since they do not have enough base health for both of these health losses at once.

Trivia

Chompom bears some resemblance to some of The Shelled Husks, but any specific connection beyond their Shell-based abilities is unknown.
