G.SKILL Ripjaws V 32GB 3000MHz DDR4 (F4-3000C15D-32GVR) Memory Kit Review

The F4-3000C15D-32GVR 32GB DDR4 memory kit from G.SKILL does come with a rated speed of 3000MHz and is composed of two 16GB modules; since we are talking about overclocking modules, these also feature a custom designed heatsink of 42mm height so compatibility should not be an issue even with more massive CPU coolers.

Packaging, A Closer Look

In this review article we are going to revisit the Ripjaws V series from G.SKILL with a new model, and to be more exact the F4-3000C15D-32GVR. This kit supports JEDEC 2133MHz specifications for DDR4 but also comes equipped with a XMP 2.0 profile which allows it to run at 3000MHz, at latencies of 15-15-15-35 and a voltage of 1.35. It is a 2x16GB kit for a total of 32GB, which should be more than enough for many builds. The product does ship inside a transparent plastic enclosure, so we can take a look on how the modules look like without opening up the package:

Inside we will also find a cardboard leaflet which holds a product description but also one nice case sticker:

The modules do share the design elements with the 16GB kit we have reviewed back in 2015:

A closer look at the modules will reveal a light aluminum heatspreader on both sides, which can come in different colours in order to fit with your preferred scheme. In the middle of the main side we will get to see a product logo sticker:

By switching the module on the other side, we will get to see a similar arrangement, but this time the sticker will contain the production date, product serial number, code name, memory quantity and rated speed, but also the timings, rated voltage along with the confirmation that the product is Intel XMP 2.0 Ready:

On the top area of the heatsink we will also get to see a smaller G.SKILL logo:

A view on the lateral does show how the two heatspreader components are joined together:

The 42mm height of the modules is not excessive and should make them compatible even with larger CPU heatsinks:
