IntroductionWhen I received a package from
Xtreme Tek Werkz and opened it, I was rather surprised: besides the water block itself, I also found three different pairs of fittings: one barb 1/4 - 1/2" diameter (already mounted on the block), one barb 1/4 - 3/8" diameter and one 1/4 - 3/8" diameter with “Innovatek” like fittings. On the picture below you can also see two clamps, but more about these later one.
The Typhoon copper liquid block is a rather heavy and big water block that looks very nice and well finished.
Xtreme Tek Werkz was also so considerate to include the optional mounting system which, according to Coolink, is a "heavy duty" retention mechanism guaranteed to provide a higher clamping pressure on the CPU.
One can dismount the original Intel cooler bracket and mount the Coolink bracket using the included screws. But this isn't really necessary since the retention mechanism is designed to fit the original Intel bracket...
Since it is obvious that mounting the water block is Childs play, I'm not going to waste your valuable time ;) and we'll continue right on to testing the performance of this block...
