After careful consultation with partners in the retail market, ebode electronics is taking the next steps to introduce new products that meet the wishes from the market. Since its establishment in 2009 ebode electronics has proven to be a serious player in this competitive market who isn’t afraid to be innovative and a pioneer when it comes to new products.

Just recently ebode introduced their first IP Camera. The ebode IPV38 camera is a new generation of indoor cameras with an easy user interface. With the ebode Apple and Android App, and free DDNS, you can always see live feeds, wherever you are.

The camera features a very silent motor for pan and tilt movement. The pan/tilt horizontal angle is 270°, and the vertical angle is 120°. The pan and tilt feature can also be set as a motion detector which records videos, photos and sound.

Next to that the ebode IP camera has infrared LEDS for night visibility up to 10 meters, and features a build-in microphone and speaker.
Besides Apple, the camera supports Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, MSN, hotmail, Gmail etc. and it can give simultaneous access to the live feeds to 9 people at the same time.

The camera can be used both wired and wireless. Please find all specifications of the camera below.

On too the real deal ->

Packaging

My door bell went and instead of the ugly postman, a lovely lady brought me the parcel, straight from her work at Ebode to my place. Wishing more companies will do this in future, but let not forget the hardworking guys who normally bring the parcels. Thumbs up for them too!

This parcel contained 2 products, The IP Vision 38 obvious, and a Bluetooth speaker.

But we focus in this review on the 38:

Picture already showing the option like pan & tillt, indoor use and night vision. Wifi connection.

What's inside the box writen on the side and some specs in a several languages.

Inside we have the actual camera, power supply, wall mounting, UTP cable and some screws.

A Really Close Look

One camera from the front

And one from the back

The mounting bracket

And the power supply

The network cable and some mounting screws

CD and manual

WI-FI antenna

Now we are ready for the actual installation ->

Real Life Test

Setting up the camera

You must use the network cable first before you can use it wirelessly!

Plug in the supply and connect to the power wallet; network cable must go into your router or switch.

Software time

After installing the IP Camera tool you will get your ip number from your network:

And hitting that line will provide you the login as is written in the manual:

Sorry in Dutch :)

Next part is choosing what you want to do next:

For my first quick test i choose the IE Browser:

And here we have the first screen after less then 5 mins. Same picture i created as a snapshot:

A bitt blurry and the colors don't match unfortunately; setting the mode to outdoor and we have some better results:

Time for setting up the antenna and let's work wireless from now on.

Scanning give me all the neighbours wireless routers and my test router. Connecting and putting in the key and we are done. The IP Camera will reboot and from now on it's having another ip address:

Cisco network magic also now sees this device, and after renaming it we are ready:

Let spy on my little girls in the backyard to see if this is working like I want to:

Time to set up a remote like on my Iphone. On the Apple Store we can find ebode IP vision but no way I am buying this for 3,99 Euros, plenty of other fish in sea.

So on to the Google path and in less then one min we found Camviewer for free. More like it and Ebode did mentioned this in the manual; Big + here.

Setting this is really simple task, forward your ports to the ip address from the cam, and login in to your outside ip address.

I this case I did set the iphone on the 3G network and we were done:

Yes this is a old Iphone 3 GS, i know, Waiting for the 5 :)

Verdict time ->

Final Verdict Time

This IP Cam is not a spy cam! It's big and you will have in sight always. If we look at the pricing it's was really expensive in the beginning at € 129 but now we can find this for 99.

Break at 69 for limited time

Quality of the camera is a bit outdated like 640x480 VGA, and shooting at that point at only 15 Fps; but full HD cameras are like double the price.

And these are 3 minus points.

The good points:

I did had my Iphone on the whole day so i could watch what the kids were doing. My girlfriend was watching too, don't worry.

Installation was a piece of cake and setting up a remote connection was really done in a few minutes.

I will be using this camera from now on and maybe I will put the outside version on the back of the house as a safety device. The camera records when movement is detected in my backyard.

We would love to say thanks to Ms. Ruiten from Ebode for provided us the camera and the smile on my face when I opened the door.

I would like to grand this camera with the

Award and I will be back with a new review from this new company in a few days.
