The Lua is an entry-level mouse from ROCCAT, which is using an Avago ADNS A3050 optical sensor with a maximum DPI of 2000. The product comes with some features borrowed from the Savu like the lateral “no-sweat” plastic finish or the ultra-precise 2D scrolling wheel and is priced decently.

The Lua takes part from the more affordable gaming accessories from ROCCAT, by retaining the aspect and some of the features of the more expensive brothers; the mouse comes shipped inside a rather small cardboard box, but maintains the design we have always seen from the company:

Lua comes with an ambidextrous V-shape for both left and right-handers and comes with an extra programmable button on top, near the scroll wheel which locks in with incremental steps:
On the back side we’ll find the ROCCAT logo, which is being lighted up with an arctic blue color when the mouse is operating:
The left and right sides of the mouse look the same and both feature a no-sweat, slip-free plastic texture:

Unlike the mice we have tested in the past, Lua does not have a braided cable, for saving costs:

The GUI options are similar to what we have seen at the more expensive ROCCAT mice and we have a total of 3 tabs that we can access. The Main Control tab allows us to adjust the DPI switcher, the Windows pointer speed, the double click speed, vertical scroll speed and polling rate. Here we can also reset the settings to default:
The Advanced Control tab will let us adjust the lighting system effects to Fully Lighted, Breathing and also Lighting Off. The mouse button functions can be also adjusted here along with the hand-mode switch:
The final Update/Support tab will allow us to go straight to the latest Driver Download page, see the currently installed driver and firmware version and if we need additional assistance we can either email the ROCCAT team or access the Online Support section:
Those which enjoy simple mice without a lot of extra buttons will, without a doubt have fun with the LUA. The mouse is light and does not have a large footprint, making it ideal for gamers or regular users which have small and medium-sized hands. The scroll wheel has been designed in such a way so we won’t make mistakes when selecting a weapon in fast paced games like CounterStrike: Global Offensive or Source.
The mouse comes with an entry-level optical sensor (Avago ADNS A3050) and does not sport stellar DPI values, the maximum being 2000; this value should be enough for most casual gamers and for switching the DPI we have seven pre-defined steps, accessible via the top button near the scroll wheel. If we do not feel the need of using all the steps, we can disable the desired ones by using the supplied software.
The lateral sides of the LUA are made from rough textured plastic, “no-sweat” like ROCCAT likes to name them and avoid slipping during intense gaming sessions. The overall appearance of the mouse reminded us of the Savu, and this is why we would like to call this mouse its little brother, with less functions. The back side ROCCAT logo lights up with a nice breathing effect, but it can be also turned off completely if necessary.
The LUA is a really accessible mouse and can be found online for about 27 Euros.
