The new Stellar Boost XT drive from Patriot Memory has quite a small footprint and also features a durable rubberized chassis. The read performance of the drive is very good, nearing 150MB/s in our tests, while the writes are in the 35MB/s area, quite close to the best performing USB 2.0 drives. These speeds are more than enough for maxing out the transfers when connected to our favorite smartphone/tablet which supports OTG for doing backups, watching Full HD content and many other activities.

Patriot has released its own OTG drive model in order to stay on the line with the current trend; these drives are very useful for expanding the available storage on mobile devices which support OTG; we can also watch a lot of multimedia content which was freshly transferred from our PC to the Stellar Boost XT without the need of worrying about slow wireless transfers or using additional cables. The drive is quite tiny and is offered inside a small cardboard/plastic enclosure; on the front we will discover the total storage capacity, the rated read speed and more:
On the back side, Patriot has drawn some schematics representing the type of usage:
The Stellar Boost XT comes with a rubberized body and offers a good grip when used; each connector is protected by its own cover while on the middle we have a blue texture with the name of the product:
If we flip the product on the other side, we will find a similar design:
One of the drive extremities ends with the regular USB 3.0 connector, while the other has the microUSB connector for OTG-enabled devices:

Conclusive Thoughts
The new Stellar Boost XT drive from Patriot Memory has quite a small footprint and also features a durable rubberized chassis; the connectors are carefully protected by separate covers and are tethered to the body of the product so we won’t lose them during travel.
For the rendered performance, we think that the 64GB drive is priced fair at about 47 Euros. Of course, we can also choose from the models which sport lower storage capacities: 32GB for about 28 Euros or 16GB for about 21 Euros.
