Other by stefan @ 2017-06-22

With the new Mobile C31 USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Silicon Power is proposing a data transfer solution between different modern devices such as tablets, smartphones, PCs, laptops, without the need of accessing the online cloud. While the write speeds to the drive do reach a decent value of about 38MB/s, we have very good read speeds nearing 155MB/s, which should be enough in most usage environments.

Packaging, A Closer Look

In this article, we will concentrate our attention upon a compact and versatile USB 3.1 flash drive from Silicon Power, which does feature both A-type and C-type connectors in order to be compatible with the latest hardware such as smartphones, laptops, desktop PCs and so on. The packaging Mobile C31 Dual USB flash drive does come in is pretty simple and is mostly made from cardboard (except the thin plastic layer the main product is shipped in); on the frontal area we will get to see an example of data migration between different devices, the product code name, total capacity storage, along with the name of the application which can be used with mobile platforms:

On the back side, we do get to see a small product description, in many different languages, along with instructions for downloading the desktop platform applications:

The top layer of the Mobile C31 is made of black plastic, with a diamond cut pattern which looks quite nice:

One of the USB ports is always accessible:

Thanks to the 360 degree swivel feature, we are able to switch interfaces in a snap; the USB Type-A connector does also feature laser-etched inscriptions of the total storage space along with the utilized bus version:

Conclusive Thoughts

With the new Mobile C31 USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Silicon Power is proposing a data transfer solution between different modern devices such as tablets, smartphones, PCs, laptops, without the need of accessing the online cloud. While the write speeds to the drive do reach a decent value of about 38MB/s, we have very good read speeds nearing 155MB/s, which should be enough in most usage environments.

Besides using a modern interface as USB Type-C, Silicon Power has designed the product chassis in such a way so switching between Type-A and Type-C can be done in a couple of seconds, thanks to the 360 degrees swivel mechanism. As additional product features, we could remind of water-proof, vibration-proof but also dust-proof, which makes the Mobile C31 ready to use in most situations.

Besides the 64GB capacity we have tested in the current review, the product is also available in 16GB, 32GB and 128GB capacities.
