Toshiba TransMemory U363 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

Other by stefan @ 2017-12-25

The 64GB USB 3.0 TransMemory U363 Flash Drive from Toshiba does offer good read speeds of about 90MB/s, but falls a bit short on the writes, which do hover at around 18MB/s. The product does come with an overall solid aluminum build that does not need a protective USB port cover and can be easily attached to our keychain for fast access to data.

Packaging, A Closer Look

One of the latest USB 3.0 flash drives from Toshiba is the TransMemory U363, which does feature a sleek design and good read/write transfer speeds. The product is shipped inside a simple cardboard enclosure, with a transparent plastic layer so we can see how the product looks like without unsealing it:

The back side does give us an insight on the available storage capacity, in multiple languages, along with the supported operating systems:

The aluminum body of the U363 gives it a plus on durability and also looks quite professional! On the top, the manufacturer has included the total capacity of the drive (in our case we are dealing with a 64GB sample); through the tail of the key ring, the drive can be attached to a lanyard or keychain in order to avoid accidental loss:

The back side of the device does contain an additional product code:

The usual blue color code can be seen with the USB connector, which gives us an idea of the used USB standard:

Conclusive Thoughts

The 64GB USB 3.0 TransMemory U363 Flash Drive from Toshiba does offer good read speeds of about 90MB/s, but falls a bit short on the writes, which do hover at around 18MB/s. The product does come with an overall solid aluminum build that does not need a protective USB port cover and can be easily attached to our keychain for fast access to data.

The drive can be found with three different capacities: 32GB, 64GB or 128GB -> if we opt-in for the 32GB version, we will pay about 12 Euros; the 64GB version (as reviewed) can be had for about 22.64 Euros, while the 128GB version can be had for about 40 Euros.

We would like to thank again to Toshiba Corporation for making this review possible!
