1MORE Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones Review

Others by stefan @ 2019-07-26

In order to enjoy high-quality audio with this particular set, it is best that your sound source does support LDAC codecs, with a bandwidth of up to 990 Kbps; our trusty Huawei P30 enabled LDAC as soon as the headphones got connected, so no issues here. After listening to many audio clips on YouTube, FLAC albums and different podcasts on SoundCloud, we can say that it covers the whole spectrum optimally, with a decent amount of bass (if mounted with the correct tips in order to provide a good seal). The voices are clearly rendered, so we haven’t had issues while watching some TV shows on the smartphone as well. Versus the Stylish True Wireless In-Ear, this particular model does have the microphone mounted in a closer area to the mouth, so expect no issues taking phone calls or chatting for longer in conferences via Skype.

Introduction

At first we would like to thank 1MORE for sending out a sample of their Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones for testing and reviewing.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

In this article, we will concentrate our view upon another interesting product from 1MORE, which is the Triple Driver Bluetooth In-ear headphones; these do concentrate on delivering high-quality audio thanks to the LDAC codec that transmits audio with bitrates up to 990kbit/s at 24 bit/96 kHz (Hi-Res Audio), but also come with one dynamic driver, along with two balanced armatures for better sound delivery.

The product is shipped inside a very nice prepared cardboard casing, together with its accessories; the main product highlights are present on the top cover:

On the side of the box, we will get to see the logos for both Bluetooth technology and LDAC:

The opposite side of the enclosure does have a stylish magnetic clip, which keeps the top cover in place:

Some more details on the headphones and more in-depth specifications are available on the back:

The enclosure opens up like a book, in order to show the headphones in all its glory, along with some well-detailed drawings of the main components:

After removing the layer in which the main product is kept secure, we have the bottom area with different compartments:

Let’s remove the Triple Driver Bluetooth In-ear headphones from the plastic mold and have a closer look:

This model adopts the neckband styling, which also houses the battery, microphone and all available controls; both ends of the neckband are built from plastic that is painted with a silver finish and the rest is made of flexible, light, black rubber:

A Closer Look Part II

The earpieces that integrate the triple-driver assembly are built from aluminum alloy for additional durability and the housing does also present markings of the respective channels; thanks to the chosen shape, they won’t fall out of the ears in normal use:

On the back side of each earpiece we can observe CD-like curving marks:

The opposite side of the earpieces do come with the 1MORE logo:

A set of ear tips are preinstalled and can be easily replaced with the additional sets:

The left side of the neckband does hold all controls; the top area houses the Power button, but also the status LED:

On the inside area we’ve got the Volume -/+ button, a round, multifunctional button (press once for Play pause or answer/hang up the current call / by using the double-click you will be able to jump to the next track and the triple click action will do the previous track action) but also the microphone port:

By removing the bottom cover, we will uncover the USB Type-C charging port:

On the exterior of the headband we will find a larger 1MORE company logo:

The wired parts of the headphones go inside the rubber layer:

A Closer Look Part III

The right side of the headband does not house additional controls and we suspect that this is also the area where the rechargeable battery is housed. Speaking of the battery, the system is able to fast charge in 10 minutes for a 3-hour use, while the full charge time is one hour. With the battery fully charged, we can enjoy a 7-hour time of operation:

A bunch of documentation is also offered with the product:

The QR code coming with one of the leaflets will redirect to the software application; next we will receive a very cute 1MORE bear sticker, but also a product catalog:

The product manual will explain the usage modes and main interfaces in multiple languages:

A non-tangle USB cable is also supplied with the headphones, for charging purposes:

We do really appreciate the inclusion of a carry bag, in order to keep the product in good shape while on-the-go:

On the back of the carry bag we will find another small bear logo:

No less than eight replacement ear tips are available to choose from, if you are not happy with the preinstalled ones; we can choose from either silicone or foam-made tips:

When charging the product, the status LED will signal the action and remain lit until the charging reaches 100%:

1MORE Assistant

For both iOS and Android we do have the 1MORE Assistant application, for further customization; the set was detected successfully and connected right away:

We have two LDAC profiles to choose from, but we found the “Balanced audio and connection quality” works best, without interruptions:

The left side of the 1MORE Assistant GUI does allow the user to perform more actions:

The version of the headphones can be checked and upgraded from the respective menu:

The tool is also equipped with a Smart Burn-In feature, that is meant to improve the output quality over time:

We also have an integrated music player we can work with:

A 5-band EQ can be customized with our preferences, or we can directly choose one of the available presets:

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

If your particular sound source does not support LDAC, it will automatically downgrade to SBC codec. One downside we have observed with LDAC is that it comes with a lower Bluetooth range than the other codecs due to the increased transmission rate, so in order not to experience cut-outs you must keep the sound source close to you at all times. When we have tried the maximum quality LDAC settings, we were getting frequent cut-outs, due to less than ideal testing conditions with lots of other devices broadcasting on Bluetooth at the same time. We would have preferred to see this unit equipped with aptX compatibility as well, because it offers a nice combination between sound quality and overall listening range. However, this product does support AAC Bluetooth codec for Apple devices, so you can enjoy high quality audio on these as well.

Later edit: when trying out the headphones outside, with less interference, the LDAC mode reception at the highest quality setting was cut-out free, so it seems that this mode is really dependent on the area you are currently in.

The 1MORE Triple Driver BT Earphones can be purchased online for about 86 Euros.
