VOID RGB ELITE Wireless is an incremental update over the VOID PRO Wireless, which features enhanced drivers of the same size, but also a better microphone that is now Discord certified as well. The headset chassis is the same as the previous iteration and we really confirm the claims regarding its durability since we did use the VOID PRO Wireless daily since its release and still operates like new.

Product Specifications

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

Just recently, CORSAIR did a pretty consistent refresh of their entire line of headsets; today we are going to look upon the VOID RGB ELITE Wireless, that was built on the base of the already successful VOID PRO series, launched back in 2017. The wireless model can be bought in either carbon or white color schemes and it ships in a medium-sized cardboard enclosure; right from the top area of the packaging, we will learn that the product is compatible with PCs but also with Playstation 4 consoles:

On the side of the box, we will get to see the “Never miss a beat” saying:

The product highlights are listed in the back, together with the technical specifications, in multiple languages:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will end up with an all-yellow box, which is sealed on a side:

By lifting the cover, we will get to see the main product sitting in the middle, secured by some additional cardboard material:

Here we will also find some documentation, but also the product bundle:

As we have seen before with the VOID PRO RGB Wireless, the white version of the ELITE does come with black accents as well and is quite lightweight at 390 grams:

A Closer Look Part II

A photo with the VOID PRO near the VOID RGB ELITE is showing that the outside design is identical:

Thanks to the chassis design, the cups can be fully rotated, for additional comfort:

On the exterior of the right cup, we do have a shiny black plastic layer which is RGB enabled and contains the CORSAIR logo:

The left cup we can find the microphone mute button, but also the Power button:

One of the changed components of the ELITE is the microphone, which is now omnidirectional, with an impedance of 2.0k Ohms, a frequency response between 100Hz – 100kHz, while the sensitivity is rated at -42dB:

The microphone also has a flexible rubber body and an additional LED for signaling the mute functionality:

In the lower area of the cup, we will find the USB charging port, but also a wheel that acts as a joystick, for navigating between different presets, but also for altering the volume:

A Closer Look Part III

The interior of the cups do feature soft premium memory foam material; the breathable microfiber mesh material does make the solution complete:

Each cup does house all-new 50mm neodymium drivers with an increased frequency response versus the VOID PRO (up to 30Khz), for having better clarity in the mid-range area but also well represented bass:

The interior area of the headband does also house memory foam material in a generous amount:

The headband can be adjusted as necessary:

The top area of the headband does feature a black color and markings in order to aid with the adjustments:

A CORSAIR logo is also present on the white layer of the headband:

After turning on the headset, the RGB lighting will start operating:

A Closer Look Part IV

Near the USB port we do also have a LED that signals the current operation mode but also the status of the battery:

Moving on to the accessories, we will get to see included USB cable, sharing the same design with the VOID PRO:

A foam microphone windscreen is also supplied in the package, for eliminating noises such as breathing:

The wireless USB transmitter is also another component that did not suffer any modifications from the VOID PRO; it does feature a pairing button along with a WiFi sync LED indicator:

On the back of the dongle, we do have the product serial number:

In terms of documentation, we do have a Warranty Guide, but also an User Guide:

Additionally, we will get to see the WEEE leaflet, along with the Safety & Compliance Information one:

The included manual does explain the main components of the product, but also the usage modes:

Let’s plug in the dongle into the ST100 stand and take the headset for a spin!

CORSAIR iCUE Part I

The VOID RGB ELITE Wireless headset has been detected by the iCUE unified configuration software right away:

The software GUI does allow the user to work with the lighting effects, EQ settings but also adjust the microphone volume, along with the sidetone volume. A separate button can be used for switching between Stereo and 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound (Dolby Headphone):

Plenty of lighting effects are available for configuration, same as with other peripherals from CORSAIR:

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

VOID RGB ELITE Wireless is an incremental update over the VOID PRO Wireless, which features enhanced drivers of the same size, but also a better microphone that is now Discord certified as well. The headset chassis is the same as the previous iteration and we really confirm the claims regarding its durability since we did use the VOID PRO Wireless daily since its release and still operates like new.

Thanks to iCUE, we can customize the EQ settings, but also the lighting and the operating range is great (there were no interruptions or sound quality downgrade while testing the headset in all rooms of the apartment).

The headset can be found online for about 109.99 Euros, including taxes.

As usual with CORSAIR products, we are going to list the pros and cons:

Pros:

-built on the same light but durable chassis

-battery lasts for quite a while if the RGB lighting is turned off (up to 15-16 hours, depending on volume)

-upgraded 50mm drivers for even better mids and lows

-upgraded microphone, which is now Discord certified as well

Cons:

-absolutely no chassis design changes, so you can easily mistake the VOID PRO with the VOID ELITE when placed one near the other
