Hexgears E001 HexBand BT In-Ear Headphones Review

Others by stefan @ 2020-02-24

The pairing procedure of the E001 HexBand can be performed in just a few seconds and does not involve any other application to be installed. After listening to several YouTube clips, a TV show, music from SoundCloud and some podcasts, we can say that the voices are rendered clearly, and we do get decent mids as well. In terms of lows, these aren’t that well represented as with other headphones tested in the past, especially when comparing with TWS models from 1MORE and Creative but these are considerably more expensive as well.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Quite recently, Hexgears has contacted us for reviewing their E001 HexBand Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones. This product features support for BT v5.0, we can launch smartphone assistants such as Siri and Google via the in-line remote, its weight is quite low (only 14.5g), while the signal can travel to up to 10 meters.

The product box is fully sealed with a thin plastic film:

After its removal, we will get to see a photo of the headphones, but also a list of the main features:

The full list of features can be checked out on the back, together with the specifications:

Inside the box, we will find the main product sitting inside a white plastic mold, along with its accessories. Documentation is also offered on a small leaflet:

The leaflet explains the usage modes, but also how the Bluetooth pairing should be performed:

E001 HexBand does feature quite a symmetric design, with two in-line plastic compartments: one is the remote and the other holds the rechargeable battery; the construction is very light, and the used cable is rubberized:

The aluminum housings of the drivers do hold the so called “aerospace-grade titanium composite dynamic driver” which is meant to deliver optimal sound quality:

A Closer Look Contd.

The in-line remote presents itself with the multi-functional controls, but also the LEDs that signal the current operating status of the headphones:

On the side, we will be able to spot the USB port for charging purposes:

The secondary in-line housing does feature a similar design, minus the control buttons:

On the back of each driver housing, Hexgears has included a magnet so both elements will be kept together when not used, like a necklace. When the drivers are joined together, the audio content will be automatically paused as well:

The driver tip is protected by a metallic mesh, so no debris will get inside:

If the preinstalled ear tips do not fit you, extra sets in different dimensions are shipped as well:

The supplied USB charging cable is short and does not come with branded connectors:

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

The pairing procedure of the E001 HexBand can be performed in just a few seconds and does not involve any other application to be installed. After listening to several YouTube clips, a TV show, music from SoundCloud and some podcasts, we can say that the voices are rendered clearly, and we do get decent mids as well. In terms of lows, these aren’t that well represented as with other headphones tested in the past, especially when comparing with TWS models from 1MORE and Creative but these are considerably more expensive as well.

For an entry-level product, we do get a decent autonomy as well of up to 7 hours, depending on the audio volume and mainstream audio codecs: AAC/SBC. Bluetooth v5.0 is supported and we did not have any issues with interruptions while walking around in the apartment. If no audio is detected, E001 will enter automatically in standby mode, in order to save battery life.

The product is available on AliExpress for about $39.99.
