AQIRYS T.G.A. Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2022-07-20

The T.G.A. Wireless is quite a light mouse given the included 580mA battery, which can help with quite a bit of usage time from a single charge, while the chassis shape matches the wired version we have tested previously, which remains comfortable even when used for long periods of time. This version is using the high-end PixArt PAW3370 sensor, the one we have found with the Mountain Makalu 67 as well and the tracking was flawless in multiple games we have used for testing such as Escape Academy, Heroes of The Storm, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Command and Conquer Remastered Collection. In terms of latency, we did not notice any difference between wired and wireless modes, which is great!

Introduction

At first, we would like to thank AQIRYS for offering us a sample of their AQIRYS T.G.A. Wireless Gaming Mouse for testing and reviewing.

Product Features

#SOLID PRECISION

At its core, T.G.A. embeds a state-of-the-art optical sensor engineered by the world's leading manufacturer, sporting 19000 dpi of next-gen optical precision and delivering the resolution, speed, and accuracy required for Pro-level gaming performance!

Latest gaming-grade 2.4 GHz wireless technology lets you unleash your skills with no delay at 1000 Hz polling rate, 1 ms response time, thanks to stable and reliable data transmission in all gaming environments.

#SMOOTH EXPERIENCE

Built entirely from premium quality elements, like water-splash-proof PCB to protect from mishaps or 80M clicks rated KAILH mechanical switches for long-lasting button performance, T.G.A. is ready to withstand a lifetime of using and abusing. Complementary, the modular chassis made of precision injection molding parts preserves the mouse appearance after heavy use. The detachable palm rest allows quick and easy cleaning, so keeping the mouse in top shape is a no-brainer.

Top that with the included extension adapter so you can seamlessly switch between wireless and wired (charging) for non-stop gaming action.

#FAST ERGONOMICS

Lightweight is smooth, smooth is fast! The low weight of T.G.A. - only 76 grams, coupled with an all-grip symmetric right-handed design reduces wrist-load, allowing hyper-fast and precise mouse movements. The honeycomb-style chassis not only shaves off a few grams but also delivers superb comfort for intense gaming sessions avoiding sweat buildup by enhancing its evaporation. All is doubled-down by our ultra-soft detachable USB paracord and the large PTFE skates, both enabling unrestricted glides even on extra-large mousepads when in wired mode.

#ELEMENTAL CUSTOMIZATION

Make it yours! - this is not an overstatement given the remarkable customization possibilities of T.G.A. that come as a standard. From the inside to the outside, you are free to adjust the mouse click softness, look and comfort to your preferences.

A 16-piece set of spacers with different thicknesses let you fine-tune the L/R click feedback from a crispier, more tactile to a lighter, softer one.

The included multiple swappable covers for both main buttons and palm rest are fuel for your imagination to overhaul T.G.A.’s appearance. Comfort-wise, when the stakes get high, the side and main buttons add-on grips can enforce a more secure mouse hold.

A full-RGB dynamic illumination system sparks life into T.G.A.’s looks, and the AQIRYS intuitive mouse software allows in-depth customization. Lastly, onboard memory is there to assist with rapid and easy storage of personal settings, so you can game freely, wherever you may roam.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

We are again here with another peripheral from AQIRYS, this time the T.G.A. (The Great Annihilator) in its Wireless form. The name, as mentioned before comes from a micro quasar consisting of a black hole and a low mass companion star, believed to be around 16300 light years away from us. The mouse weights only 76g without the USB cable, can be used in both wired and wireless modes, while the chassis can be customized with quite a bit of elements.

The T.G.A. gaming mouse comes in a medium-sized cardboard enclosure (for a mouse), due to a large quantity of accessories. The top cover does highlight some of the products’ main features, but also the fact that the sensor can track up to 19000 DPI:

On one of the box sides, AQIRYS advertises the chassis customization feature:

The opposite side comes with some more features listed, in multiple languages:

The bottom area comes with the inside contents listing, details regarding the manufacturer's address, the importer’s address, the product code name but also the serial number:

On the back, we will note the main highlights explained, but also the list of technical specifications:

After removing the top packaging layer, we will note that the internal box does have a saying printed on its cover:

“The Great Annihilator is now in effect. / No GL is needed past this point. Just HF!”

After lifting the cover, we will note a small leaflet on top, introducing us to the AQIRYS website:

Underneath, we will note the mouse sitting in foam material in order to avoid scratches during transit, but also a box with the rest of the hardware bundle:

The T.G.A. Wireless comes with some extra documents as well:

A Closer Look Part II

The set of different stickers is quite nice!

On the back side of the previously-mentioned leaflet we will note the exact web page address where the download resources are placed, but we will be also informed of the support email address:

The Quick Installation Guide shows the steps in order to work with the replaceable components, but also how to perform the optional wireless pairing to the included dongle, how to check the battery level and more!

The hardware bundle is plenty! We will get multiple button/back cover variants, grip tapes for both left/right buttons and sides, replaceable bottom feet, but also button spacers with various thickness:

The grip tapes have a rubberized finish and come with 3M tape on the opposite side:

In the small plastic bag with the PTFE feet and the button spacers, we did note a small aluminum-covered adapter as well:

Here is a closer look at the button spacers, which can customize the click feel of the left/right buttons:

The small adapter allows the user to place the WiFi dongle as far away from the computer as possible, in order to avoid interference:

A Closer Look Part III

On one of the sides, we will connect the USB cable which was bundled with the mouse (USB-C):

The other side comes with an USB-A port for plugging in the WiFi dongle:

We do have plenty of options to customize the chassis thanks to the replaceable covers, which come in black, white and cyan colors. The back cover can be had with both holed and non-holed designs:

On the back of each replaceable cover, we will note some screws which help connect with the magnets on the chassis of the T.G.A Wireless:

Originally, the T.G.A. Wireless comes equipped with the black left/right button cover, but also the black (holed) back cover. It comes with a symmetric shape (except the button placement) and is quite light at about 76g:

The RGB-enabled, rubberized scroll wheel is accompanied by the DPI selector; regarding the button switches, we do have a set of Kailh GM 8.0 (80 million actuations rating):

On the side, we do have two more programmable buttons, which are easily accessible; the overall design is similar to the T.G.A. Wired we have reviewed before only that on the sides now we do have a holed design as well, with a hexagon pattern. The switches used here are mechanical as well, manufactured by Huano:

Near the back, the mouse comes with a small lip featuring the RGB lighting; this area is also the one we need to place our nails in order to lift the back cover:

A Closer Look Part IV

The opposite side is pretty much the same, minus the programmable buttons; the honeycomb pattern also helps avoiding sweat accumulation by enhancing evaporation:

In the frontal area of the mouse, we will note the USB-C port:

The bottom area exposes the two large PTFE feet, but also the smaller portion around the sensor lens; T.G.A. Wireless employs the PixArt PAW3370 sensor, which can track up to 19000 DPI, with a maximum speed of 400 IPS:

The interesting switch near the sensor lens does allow the user to immediately disable all RGB lighting in order to save more battery life:

If we do remove the back cover, we will immediately spot the integrated battery in the center, in the exact place where the weights for the Wired version were placed. The battery has a capacity of 580mA and can charge in about 2.5 hours, while the total play time can reach up to 50 hours. The USB dongle is also placed here in a dedicated area, while the AQIRYS logo is RGB enabled:

On the left and right we will note the magnets which hold the cover in place:

The dongle is very compact and comes with the AQIRYS logo on top:

After removing the left/right button covers, we can take a look at the Kailh switches as well:

A Closer Look Part V

Magnets for holding the assembly can be seen in the vicinity of the battery:

We do really enjoy the level of customization AQIRYS mice do offer!

Oh yes…the cable is paracord-type, very flexible and fully braided:

The RGB lighting is very subtle, the brightness can be configured via software and the lower lip does bleed a bit of light on the surface we do use the mouse on:

The back lip and AQIRYS logo can be easily photographed/seen with the back cover removed:

The Software Interface Part I

As we have noted before with AQIRYS peripherals, each comes with its own dedicated software and we are not dealing with a unified tool such as iCUE, Razer Synapse, SteelSeries GG and so on…The AQIRYS TGA GUI is quite easy to work with and we get multiple tabs which sport different functions. The first menu allows customizing the button functions, throughout multiple profiles:

We have a drop-down menu which includes the profile selection:

Here is a list of the functions we can work with:

DPI

Multimedia

DPI Lock

The next menu, allows the user to customize the DPI step values, the RGB color, the DPI LED lighting effect, the USB Polling Rate, the LOD, we can enable Ripple Control and Angle Snapping, but also adjust some of the standard Mouse Parameters options:

We can choose up to 6 DPI steps:

Here are the RGB effects we can have for the scroll wheel:

The Software Interface Part II

Moving on, we do have the Macro menu for building different key sequences; we can record with or without delay but also select how many cycles will there be or insert events:

The RGB for the back lip and AQIRYS logo have a dedicated menu, with multiple presets; depending on the selected preset, we do have other options for configuration purposes:

Here is the list of available presets:

Steady

Breathing

Streaming

Neon

Scrolling

Colorful Breathing

Lights off

Of course, we can also switch on the option to turn off the light while the mouse is moving, but also choose when the mouse should go in sleep mode.

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

AQIRYS does impress again in terms of customization options, even supplying spacers of different thickness in order to customize the behavior of the Kailh 8.0 frontal buttons. While the weight is not configurable with this model, the manufacturer added grip tapes for both sides and left/right buttons as a bonus.

Another handy tool is the USB-C to USB-A adapter, which allows you to move the USB dongle away from the computer, for maximizing the range optimizing the signal quality, while the cable is flexible enough in order to eliminate drag.

The AQIRYS Online Shop has this item listed for about 60 Euros, which is a great pricing considering what is offered!
