Silicon Power QP77 10000mAh Power Bank Review

Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2022-08-01

The QP77 Power Bank really looks great as a fashion element and offers the same capacity as the GP28 model we have reviewed a while back. The LED display has now been replaced by four individual LEDs on the side, but the new model also includes up to 3A charging at 5V. Another benefit with the QP77 is that it can charge in about 3.5 hours with Power Delivery, while the older model could only charge in about 6 hours.

Introduction

We would like to thank at first Silicon Power for supplying their QP77 10000mAh Power Bank for testing and reviewing.

Product Features

One-Stop Fast-Charging Solution

Look no further than the QP77 for refueling your mobile devices; it charges them up to 2.5 times faster with support from 4 different high-speed engines. Charge with 18W Power Delivery (PD) via the Type-C output. Or charge with QC3.0, 22.5W VOOC (OPPO models), or 22.5W Super Charge (Huawei models) via the USB Type-A output. With all these compatibilities, the QP77 is really a one-stop fast-charging solution.

Trendy Design with Practical Usage

With a simple touch, the LED light indicator button displays the battery level, while also dually-functioning as a "wake-up" power button for Apple iPhone and iPad devices. The distinct non-woven textured design gives it a trendy appearance and a comfortable touch.

Mix And Match with Multiple Ports

The QP77 was designed for convenience. With 3 outputs, you can charge up to 3 devices simultaneously. Mix and match your devices with 2 USB Type-A ports and 1 Type-C port to keep all your electronics going with you. Or share with a friend in need.

The Future of Input Charging

Not only is there rapid input charging, but with a dual input, you can charge the power bank via Micro-USB or Type-C. The Type-C input is the perfect future-proof addition to sync with the growing trend of Type-C ports on devices.

Battery Protection from Temperature Regulation

The QP77 is equipped with an NTC thermistor, a sensor that monitors the battery temperature. If the battery overheats or gets too cold, charging will automatically stop to protect and extend the life of the power bank.

An Accessory That's Made for Traveling

The QP77 comes with a protective mesh pouch with a drawstring closure to keep the power bank safe while on-the-go. The cushioned material is ideal for when it's in your bag or luggage.

Packaging, A Closer Look

Silicon Power is ready with another 10000mAh power bank, but this time a model with a very trendy design! Instead of the usual black/white color schemes, this time we are getting a cushioned chassis with a grey non-woven fabric on both sides, while the frame is made from plastic.

The QP77 power bank is shipped inside a compact cardboard enclosure with an orange background; the frontal area does inform the user on the main highlights via icons:

The product features are also listed on the side:

On the opposite area, we will note two QR codes, which link to online resources:

On the back, Silicon Power does bring more details on the listed features, we do get the list of technical specifications for each available interface, but also some information regarding the Silicon Power offices, the product internal code name and serial number:

Inside the box, we will find a nice carry bag, the main product, some documentation, but also an USB cable:

The black travel bag is equipped with a drawstring closure in order to keep the power bank from falling out:

A subtle orange logo is also present here:

Inside the manual, we will learn of the LED indicator meaning; the QP77 is equipped with a power management feature, which gets the product in a sleep mode in about 10 to 30 seconds after the connected device has been fully charged:

The capacity of the power bank is noted at 10000mAh at 3.7V, 6500mAh at 5V, 3300mAh at 9V and 2300mAh at 12V; here we will learn that the USB-A ports can deliver 5V at 3A, 9V at 2A or 12V at 1.5A. The Type-C port can supply 5V at 3A, 9V at 2A and 12V at 1.5A, same as the USB-A; if charging multiple devices and using all ports, the maximum delivery is 5V at 3A:

The supplied cable is an USB-A to USB-C, which can be used with multiple setups:

A Closer Look Contd.

The frontal area of the QP77 looks nice thanks to the included fabric, a really fashionable product!

A subtle, black Silicon Power logo is spotted here:

On the back, we will note a similar design:

Here we have noted the ports which will be most frequently used:

The left side does show the 10000mAh battery capacity, but also a Micro-B USB port which only acts as input:

Here is a closer look at the side input port:

On the opposite side, we will get to see some more information regarding the charging specs, but also the Power on button and the status LEDs:

The technical data is written so it can be easily read only when looking closely at the frame:

The status LEDs are in white color and depending on the charging percentage, we will see more or less LEDs lit:

Our sample has arrived with more than 75% capacity, which means three LEDs on:

The two USB-A ports can be only used as output, while the central USB-C is bidirectional; the power bank can be charged with 5V at 2A or with 9V at 2A; when using the Power Delivery feature (only available with the USB-C port), we can also charge 5V at 3A:

Conclusive Thoughts

The QP77 Power Bank really looks great as a fashion element and offers the same capacity as the GP28 model we have reviewed a while back. The LED display has now been replaced by four individual LEDs on the side, but the new model also includes up to 3A charging at 5V. Another benefit with the QP77 is that it can charge in about 3.5 hours with Power Delivery, while the older model could only charge in about 6 hours.

The QP77 comes with quite a bit of protection mechanisms, including a thermal sensor for stopping operation in case it gets too warm or too hot. It also supports multiple charging methods such as QC 3.0, PD, for both Android and iOS platforms.

The product can be found online for as low as 19.6 Euros, which we consider a good offer counting the numerous included technologies!
