Neo Forza TRINITY JETBLACK DDR5 6000 64GB (2x32GB) Memory Kit Review

Memory by stefan @ 2022-10-07

The TRINITY JETBLACK 64GB DDR6000 C40 is actually the first high-capacity kit we have tested being able to run at said high frequency (6000MHz) guaranteed, by just enabling XMP, it’s that easy! Neo Forza has all kits tested and sorted in-house but sometimes, depending on the used motherboard, it is a hit and miss regarding reaching the desired frequency, as we have noted with our EVGA Z690 CLASSIFIED, while on the MSI Z690 TORPEDO, the kit worked like a charm.

Introduction

At first, we would like to thank Neo Forza for sending us a sample of their TRINITY JETBLACK 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz C40 DDR5 Memory Kit for testing and reviewing.

Packaging, A Closer Look

It is time to check one of the first DDR5 RAM kits from Neo Forza and we will begin with a non-RGB version. This kit carries the TRINITY JETBLACK naming, which means that it takes part of the same series minus the RGB lighting. The kit comes packed inside a resealable blister packaging, which allows the potential customer to check out how the modules look like before actually purchasing the product and not a photo:

On the back side, we will note some of the product main features, but also the product name and its serial number:

Since this is a kit, we are dealing with two 32GB modules, totaling 64GB with a running frequency of 6000MHz and latencies of 40-40-40-77 when enabling the XMP 3.0 profile. The profile will also override the VDD to 1.3V, the VDDQ to 1.3V, the VPP to 1.8V and the memory controller to 1.4V:

The TRINITY JETBLACK model, as the naming says does include an all-black design with no extra lighting:

The top area of each module does come with a placeholder of the light diffuser made of plastic, which is also black:

In the middle, we will note the iconic triangle-shaped Neo Forza logo:

The top right area does also show some triangle-shaped cutouts:

On the opposite side of the module, we will note a more subtle brand logo, along with a sticker:

Here is a close-up of the other brand logo:

The mentioned sticker does come with the internal product name, the specs but also the product serial number:

On the top plastic piece which joins the two parts of the heatspreader together, we will see another, nice Neo Forza logo:

The pre-programmed timings and frequencies can be also found by using AIDA64; the DRAM IC manufacturer is listed as SK hynix:

We did first start testing this particular kit on our trusty Z690 CLASSIFIED from EVGA, running the latest 1.5 BIOS from the support page; while until 5800MHz we haven’t experienced any issues with the kit, loading XMP at 6000MHz resulted in a non-stable system. After more than four hours of retries we ended up with a stable 6000MHz frequency while entering up the timings manually but not at the stock 1.3V … we have had to run VDD/VDDQ at 1.37V; anything under this was erroring out after a while in TM5.

Since we have had also a Z670 TORPEDO board from MSI at our disposal, we thought to transfer the components from our testbench to this one and retry with the exact same kit…what happened next is very interesting: after only applying XMP profile, the board booted up and even after two separate runs of TM5 we did not encounter any errors! We double checked inside the UEFI and the RAM was running not at 1.37V as with the EVGA board, but at the stock 1.3V as pre-programmed by XMP 3.0!

Conclusive Thoughts

The TRINITY JETBLACK 64GB DDR6000 C40 is actually the first high-capacity kit we have tested being able to run at said high frequency (6000MHz) guaranteed, by just enabling XMP, it’s that easy! Neo Forza has all kits tested and sorted in-house but sometimes, depending on the used motherboard, it is a hit and miss regarding reaching the desired frequency, as we have noted with our EVGA Z690 CLASSIFIED, while on the MSI Z690 TORPEDO, the kit worked like a charm.

This is the non-RGB version of the TRINITY and Neo Forza has chosen to go with black color in order to fit with most motherboard/system color schemes. The TRINITY series is optimized for Alder Lake systems but also for Raptor Lake and AM4/AM5 platforms, even before some of these do reach mass market! Retail kits do also have a secondary, failsafe XMP profile at a lower frequency of 5600MHz in order to ensure compatibility with most motherboards/setups.
