Neo Forza 2x32GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM Memory Kit Review

Memory by stefan @ 2022-12-29

The Shuttle DH32U5 barebone had absolutely no issues operating with 64GB of RAM at 3200MHz thanks to the Neo Forza PnP kit. There was no extra configuration necessary, the correct speed being detected right away and there were no stability problems either. The C22 kit is operating at a low voltage of 1.2V so it won’t need heatsinks even when installed in a passive enclosure.

Introduction

At first, we would like to thank Neo Forza for sending us a sample of their 2x32GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM Memory Kit for testing and reviewing.

Packaging, A Closer Look

It is time to check out another interesting kit from Neo Forza, one which takes part of their Plug and Play series designed for laptops and mini-PCs. The 2 x 32GB DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM kit will be installed on the slim and capable barebone from Shuttle, the DH32U5, featuring a soldered Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, while the test drive will be the same as before, a Silicon Power A60 512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0.

Our sample kit has arrived inside a factory plastic tray, which did hold the two modules save during transit:

After removing the products from the packaging, we did immediately note the nice black PCB:

Each of the modules do feature a large sticker on top, showing the internal code name, their specs (32GBx2 3200 C22) but also its serial number:

On the back side we will have the rest of eight memory ICs, but no extra sticker this time!

The ICs do feature GoldKey branding on top (Neo Forza’s mother company), along with the serial number. These are actually SK Hynix chips:

The procedure for installing the modules into our test system is very simple:

Test Setup and Extra Info

The kit was tested inside the previously reviewed Shuttle XPC slim Barebone DH32U5, which incorporates an Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU and supports installing up to 2x32GB 3200MHz kits.

After running an instance of CPU-Z, we did learn that the kit was running with 22-22-22-52 timings, a tRFC of 880 and a 1T Command Rate:

More details on the modules and the registered timings were picked up by AIDA64:

Conclusive Thoughts

The Shuttle DH32U5 barebone had absolutely no issues operating with 64GB of RAM at 3200MHz thanks to the Neo Forza PnP kit. The C22 kit is operating at a low voltage of 1.2V so it won’t need heatsinks even when installed in a passive enclosure.

Besides the presented SKU, Neo Forza also has available a lot of other DDR4 SODIMM kits and depending on the operating frequency there are different CLs involved, but all operate at the exact same frequency. In terms of capacity, we will note 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB modules, all benefiting from a lifetime limited warranty.
