After reviewing the Mercury M2 Stealth Black from GravaStar, we got accustomed with their futuristic, almost out of this world appearance of their products. Their earphones series makes no exception, with the release of the Sirius P5 Combo. Why the Combo name you may ask? Well, because the earphones come bundled with no less than three separate covers, each looking more interesting than the other.

 

The set does come shipped inside a compact cardboard enclosure, which shows the three separate covers, along with their names:

 

 

 

A look on the side will reveal GravaStar’s saying:

 

 

 

A specific GravaStar pattern is present in the opposite area:

 

 

 

The bottom area will show the technical specifications in detail, along with the online resources for the products, but also links to the social media accounts. We will note the product code name and the serial number as well:

 

 

 

After lifting the top cover, we will observe a semi-transparent paper with interesting designs of some other GravaStar products:

 

 

 

Each bundled product is secured separately inside the internal black plastic mold, so no damages will incur during transit:

 

 

 

 

The charging case is very compact and is offered in an all-black color scheme; in the middle we will note the earbud stems, which are built with a black/dark silver color scheme:

 

 

 

The steps do also come with a small graph representing an audio signal, along with the Sirius logo:

 

 

 

The earphones come pre-installed in the charging case, but feature a plastic seal in the contacts area in order do avoid accidental discharges if these need to be stored for a longer period of time:

 

 

 

The back side does come with some extra inscriptions:

 

 

 

The sides of the case are not ignored either:

 

 

 

In the opposite area we will note the large battery status indicator:

 

 

 

The bottom segment of the casing does feature two mounting holes, a screw thread, the USB-C charging port but also the Reset button:

 

 

 

The case does come with dedicated compartments for the left and right channels:

 

 

 

Sirius P5 Wireless does come with a “one-size fits all” design; it does feature IPX4 waterproofing, Environment Noise Canceling for blocking external disturbances, and 12mm dynamic drivers:

 

 

 

The large drivers permit delivery of a healthy amount of bass, while the Qualcomm aptX HD CODEC ensures great quality audio versus the regular SBC:

 

 

 

The frontal area of the drivers do feature the grill, which prevents debris from outside travel inside the chamber:

 

 

 

The driver chassis also comes with a bass reflex port:

 

 

 

On the bottom area of the stem, we will note the two charging contacts, the magnet but also the microphone (each earphone comes with its separate microphone):

 

 

 

When placed inside the case, the earphones will start charging, signaled by a LED-powered indicator, which also is touch enabled; the top holes are the secondary speakers for eliminating outside noise:

 

 

 

The charging case was built in order to be used with one of the protective cases; the first one, takes part of the Defense Mecha series and resembles a robot, a giant machine piloted usually by humans, which is popular amongst Japanese:

 

 

 

 

Some areas of it look like Lego pieces, such as the top cover:

 

 

 

On the bottom, we will note some cut-outs:

 

 

 

On the side, we will note a small plastic pipe, trying to mimic a hydraulic equipment:

 

 

 

The case does also come with an easy to identify top release button:

 

 

 

Thanks to the included spring system, the top lifts up like a cigarette lighter:

 

 

 

The charging case can be easily inserted in the Defense Mecha:

 

 

 

Through the plastic pipe we will be able to observe the current charging level of the battery via the internal LED, which is a nice touch!

 

 

 

Moving on to the next case, we are talking about the Defense Crystal Series; this transparent case does come with blue accents on the bottom and is clear on the top:

 

 

 

The construction of the case is similar in terms of functionality with the Mecha:

 

 

 

 

 

 

This time, we will get a direct look at the battery status LED:

 

 

 

With the battery case installed and the top closed, we will have a clear view of the charge status of the earphones as well:

 

 

 

 

 

The third case, Defense Armor Series, is made of Zinc alloy and really looks like a robot from Robocop! It is a very sturdy case with several openings:

We will receive a separate cardboard box with some extra bundle:

 

 

 

Here we will get some semi-transparent slides which show drawings of the protective cases, along with their name:

GravaStar did not omit to include the manual with the necessary instructions:

 

 

 

 

A sponge-like material comes with the GravaStar logo, but also a small screw, used for keeping the earphones secure inside the protective case:

 

 

 

 

This screw can be easily installed on the bottom:

 

 

 

GravaStar bundles this with a metallic lanyard as well, which follows the design of the whole setup:

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, we do have the USB charging cable, which is USB-C on the case side and USB-A on the adapter side:

 

 

 

After connecting the Sirius P5 set to our Samsung S24 smartphone, we started listening to various TV shows via Plex, YouTube videos but also listened to some music: the earphones sound really good, with an impressive amount of bass for such small drivers, while the voices are delivered with clarity. The capacitive controls on each earbud do allow actions such as answering phone calls, audio track skipping, play/pause, volume control or we can also activate the voice assistant. If we are playing games, there is also a mode which minimizes latency to about 48ms, which is great!

 

The aspect of the Sirius P5, when used with the protective cases is quite unique and really attracts a lot of attention. Battery life is good, with an autonomy of about 8 hours from a charge and this can be extended to up to 40 hours if we do utilize the charging case (which is inevitable because it is the perfect place to put the earphones in when not used).

 

Sirius P5 does also support pairing with two devices, so when the current sound source gets offline, the earphones will jump to the secondary paired device with little to no delay. We have walked around the house with the Sirius P5 one, while leaving the phone in one room and we experienced zero loss, even if there were two walls between the smartphone and the earphones.

 

The only two negative points regarding this product are the following:

-the capacitive controls need some time to get used to since the surface of control is quite small/limited;

-there is no EQ/companion application we could install in order to customize the sound signature further.
