Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith RGB 2x32GB DDR5 6000MHz Memory Kit Review

Memory by stefan @ 2024-05-07

The XPOWER Zenith RGB DDR5-6000 64GB memory kit from Silicon Power does impress regarding total capacity, tighter timings used for both XMP and EXPO profiles but also with the fact we can overclock the modules further in order to obtain some extra performance. The RGB lighting offered by the modules is not tied to a specific platform, but supports most known motherboard utilities: BIOSTAR was not listed as compatible, but their utility could control the modules just fine!

Introduction

We would like to thank at first Silicon Power for supplying their XPOWER Zenith RGB 2x32GB DDR5 6000MHz Memory Kit for testing and reviewing.

DDR5 Unleashes Game-Changing Performance

Experience even faster frequencies, greater capacities, and lower voltages with the latest release in our Zenith Series, the XPOWER Zenith RGB DDR5 UDIMM module. Take your gaming abilities to new high scores with turbo speeds ranging from 5200MT/s to 6800MT/s. It's available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB module densities with double the banks and double the burst length compared to DDR4 to give hardcore gamers and overclockers the power to harness DDR5's game-changing performance.

Eliminate The Competition Without Turning Up The Heat

The aluminum heatsink, available in black or white and finished with a hairline texture, promotes maximum heat dissipation and thermal management. This effect is boosted even further by a low 1.25V-1.35V power consumption, an On-Die Error Correction Code (ECC), and a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) to provide reliably stable and uninterrupted gameplay at the highest resolutions while keeping its cool no matter how heated the competition gets.

Easily Overclock Like There's No Tomorrow

Do you like to pursue speed while pushing the limits? The XPOWER Zenith RGB DDR5 UDIMM module is ready and certified to support Intel® XMP 3.0 and one-click overclocking technology. Experience ultra-fast overclocking at the ease of a single click with fully customized, saved profiles. Packaging, A Closer Look

Silicon Power has prepared another memory kit set featuring RGB lighting, with a speed range between 5200 MHz and 6800 MHz and employing both XMP and EXPO profiles for good compatibility for Intel and AMD platforms. The kit we will review today does come with the SP064GXLWU60AFDF code name, sporting timings of 30-38-38-96 and an operating voltage of 1.35V. In terms of capacity, we are dealing with a 2x 32GB kit, so enough for the majority of applications.

The kit takes part of the Zenith RGB series and is packed inside a simple sealed transparent plastic layer:

Inside, we will note a small leaflet, which shows the compatible motherboard RGB platforms:

On the back, Silicon Power does offer a small product description, some technical details on the modules, but also the product internal code name and its serial number:

Let’s take a look at the module heatspreaders!

As with the non-RGB models we have previously tested, we are dealing with a black PCB, while the heatsink does cover most of the module; in the middle, Silicon Power has placed a white XPOWER logo:

In the top right corner, we do have a “DDR5 Gaming Memory” product description:

On the opposite side, we will find an identical design, but with an extra sticker, which informs the user on the product code name, serial number, running speed, CAS latency but also the module capacity:

The top area of the module includes a RGB light diffuser with a wavy design:

After powering up the test system, the modules started operating, showing a very cool lighting effect!

Test Setup and Test Results I

Test Setup

CPU: Intel i7-13700K @ Stock

CPU Cooler: DeepCool LT720 360mm AIO

Motherboard: BIOSTAR Z790 VALKYRIE LGA1700

RAM: currently tested kit

Video: XFX Radeon 7900 XT

Power Supply: Cooler Master 850W

SSD: Silicon Power US70 1TB PCIe 4.0

Case: Cooler Master ATCS 840

The pre-programmed timings and frequencies can be also found by using AIDA64; the DRAM IC manufacturer is listed as SK hynix:

The kit does include one XMP profile and one EXPO profile, with the same preloaded timings. DDR5-6000 is the sweet spot for both Intel and AMD platforms in terms of compatibility, so we should not encounter issues unless the motherboard we are working with is very weak. The timings we should expect running after enabling XMP/EXPO are 30-38-38-96, while the operating voltage is 1.35.

We did first start testing this kit on our BIOSTAR Z790 VALKYRIE LGA1700 and the stability at stock speeds and had no stability issues.

DDR5-6000

Overclocking stage was next, so we have used the same timings and voltage, while increasing the RAM speed to DDR5-6200; the system was rock stable!

DDR5-6200

At DDR5-6400, we noted errors in TestMem5, so we have stopped here.

Conclusive Thoughts

The XPOWER Zenith RGB DDR5-6000 64GB memory kit from Silicon Power does impress regarding total capacity, tighter timings used for both XMP and EXPO profiles but also with the fact we can overclock the modules further in order to obtain some extra performance. The RGB lighting offered by the modules is not tied to a specific platform, but supports most known motherboard utilities: BIOSTAR was not listed as compatible, but their utility could control the modules just fine!

The modules are not very tall (38.5mm height) in order not to interfere with larger cooling systems, while the relatively low operating voltage and integrated heatsinks make sure the modules remain warm even more intensive workloads.

The XPOWER Zenith RGB kits can be purchased with capacities of up to 64GB, while the running speeds are available up to 6800MHz (2 x 16GB maximum capacity).

The tested kit is available currently for about 255 Euros, a similar pricing to other kits from different manufacturers.
