𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩? If you’re planning to change jobs in Dubai and have dependents under your sponsorship, this useful article provides important information on managing your dependents visas during the transition. The good news is that you are not required to cancel and re-apply for your dependent's visas. Instead, you can simply put their visas ‘on hold’ before your employment visa is cancelled, then take them off hold once your new employment visa is issued. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝: • Visa validity: The dependents' visas must be valid for a minimum of three months • Timing: Ensure your dependents' visas are placed on hold before your current employment visa is cancelled • Hold period: The holding period must not exceed 60 days This process aims to ensure a smooth job transition, whilst keeping your family’s residency secured. The Ministry of Economy have introduced a new mandate in the UAE requiring women to hold seats on corporate boards, this is set to take effect in January 2025. It's encouraging to see the UAE launching new initiatives aimed at ensuring fair and equal representation of women at the board level. This initiative aims to support women's participation in the workforce, whilst driving economic development in the region. Professionals in the UAE welcome this new initiative, viewing it as a significant step towards greater female representativeness and gender diversity in corporate organisations and senior leadership roles. Governmental initiatives which are under development aim to raise women's representation in leadership positions to 30% by 2025! Witnessing the governments proactive efforts to promote gender diversity and inclusion is an extremely positive development, not only for private sector organisations, but also for society as a whole. #diversityintheworkplace #womeninleadership #UAE #diversityandinclusion

ILOE – Involuntary loss of employment scheme reminder! Under the Federal Decree Law No. 13 of 2022, ILOE (Unemployment Insurance) became a mandatory scheme for all private sector employees in the UAE in January 2023. 🚨𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙐𝘼𝙀 𝙇𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙇𝙖𝙬🚨 The UAE Government has introduced a new Federal Decree-Law that amends certain provisions of the Federal Decree-Law on Employment Relationships. These amendments are aimed at enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of the labour market, by clarifying the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved. Here are some of the updates: • Employers now face fines ranging from AED 100,000 to AED 1 million for various offenses, with larger fines based on the number of fictitious employees. • The same penalties apply to the unlawful employment of minors as well as hiring workers without valid work permits. • The new law also introduces criminal penalties for fraudulent recruitment practices, including fake Emiratisation. These positive changes show the UAE's commitment to safeguarding both employees and employers, promoting a fair and transparent working environment. It's essential for businesses to stay updated and ensure compliance to avoid significant penalties. #UAELaw #EmploymentLaw #Compliance #NewFederal Decree-Law
