Dar Al Marefa offers a bilingual education in Arabic and English with a strong emphasis on the respect of local culture and values. Our highly qualified teaching staff challenge our students to be active learners, while our educational programs and classroom practices involve team-working collaboratively and inquiry-based learning in order to fully engage our students and help them reach their full potential. All of our students participate in stimulating and challenging curriculum programs in the major areas of study, including Languages, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social and Environmental Studies, Physical Education and Health as well as the Arts. The fundamental concepts that lead our education are holistic learning—representing the notion that all knowledge is interrelated and that the curriculum should cater to the development of the whole person. Cultural awareness and a focus on our Islamic values go hand in hand with intercultural understanding—representing the notion that school communities should encourage and promote international-mindedness by respecting our own culture before engaging with, and exploring other cultures.

Our Dar Al Marefa flag day on Friday 1st November, was an event filled with pride and respect. With the safety of over 1250 students at the forefront of everything we do, we worked hard earlier in the week changing venues from an outside event to an indoor event. The unusually high temperatures for this time of year (36° at 11.00am on Friday) would have entailed children being in the sun and heat for at least 40 minutes. Absolutely not the right thing to do, so my events commitee worked exceptionally hard to organise and sort venues to ensure our flag day would be respectful with safety first for the students. I would like to thank the Dubai Police for their attendance and for sorting future collaborations. A huge thank you again to the team who put everything together so seamlessly. Happy Flag Day UAE!! 🇦🇪
