When there's insufficient oxygen in the blood, various symptoms can arise, including: Common Symptoms of Anemia: Fatigue and weakness Pale or yellowish skin Shortness of breath Dizziness or lightheadedness Chest pain Cold hands and feet Irregular heartbeat Types of Anemia: Iron-deficiency anemia: Caused by a lack of iron, which is necessary for hemoglobin production. Vitamin-deficiency anemia: A deficiency in vitamin B12 or folate can cause the body to produce abnormally large red blood cells that don’t function properly.
