🍄 🌻 Proud to be Expo City Dubai's Farm Partner! 🌻 🍄 ☕ 🍄 We began by collecting spent coffee grounds sourced from the city's coffee outlets, then utilizing them to feed our mushroom substrate, showcasing #circulareconomy at its finest. A big shoutout to Jeff Kersey MSc Anton Sotnezov for their fantastic contributions to this undertaking! 📐🔧 👨💻 We subsequently constructed a mushroom grow cabinet to bring our fantastic fungi closer to people. It has been a head-turner ever since, drawing #ExpoCityFarm visitors to engage up close and personal with these intriguing organisms. 🤝 It's not just Below Farm - we are here together with other environmentalists & innovators Stuart Oda Ahmad Hammoud from Alesca Life; the one and only Yazen Al Kodmani of Emirates Bio Farm EBF & Emirates Bio Fertilizer Factory (EBFF); the folks behind the biochar showcase A Healthier Earth: Alastair Collier Tom Kearney-Mitchell; and the team behind the air-to-water technology AirJoule! 📲 Call up family & friends and come down to see how we address the ecological challenges of conventional farming, particularly considering water scarcity, extreme climates and urbanisation. 🗓📍Expo City Farm is located in Expo City Dubai’s Al Forsan Park and is open to the public daily from 3 December. Today at COP28 UAE, our conservation experts and partners showcased local initiatives and agroecology solutions to transform food production at the Nature-based Solutions for Resilient Food Systems event, co-hosted with International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), and featuring insights from WWF, BOCA, Emirates Bio Farm EBF and Moringa Reserve UAE. Later this evening, #UACA will launch Road2.0 – a ground-breaking initiative to directly reduce emissions across the transport sector in the UAE.
