We are pleased to announce our Q2 2024 results, with revenues of $496 million and adjusted EBITDA of $156 million. In H1 2024, Fertiglobe’s revenues were $1,048 million and $378 million, respectively. Our own produced sales volumes were up 1% Y-o-Y in H1 2024, despite recent gas supply issues in Egypt and would have been up 7% excluding these external factors, demonstrating serious progress on the Manufacturing Improvement Plan (MIP). We are proud of the recent milestones achieved by Fertiglobe, which include: 🌱 Taking the Final Investment Decision (FID) and awarding the construction contract for the TA’ZIZ 1 mpta low carbon ammonia project to Tecnimont S.p.A, set to begin production in 2027. 🌍 Securing a first-of-its-kind offtake contract to supply renewable ammonia from Egypt to Europe for a total contract value of up to €397 million until 2033. 🚀 Continued progress with active management initiatives: 📉 $42 million in run rate savings implemented as of June 2024 as part of the cost optimization program; on track to achieve our $50 million target by the end of 2024. 💡 Visible efforts on the manufacturing improvement front, with potential to generate $100 million in incremental run rate EBITDA by the end of 2025, compared to 2023. 📣 Pilot auction results in first significant renewable ammonia supply for EU 📣 Today, Hintco GmbH announces Fertiglobe as the successful bidder of the first H2Global pilot auction for renewable ammonia, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Fertiglobe, a strategic partnership between ADNOC and OCI, will start producing renewable ammonia destined for delivery in European ports in 2027 for a maximum contract value of EUR 397 million. Fertiglobe was awarded a first-of-its-kind offtake contract globally to supply renewable ammonia to the European Union (EU) following a pilot auction by H2Global Foundation. This unique program supports demand and pricing, helping Fertiglobe and the Egypt Green Hydrogen consortium reach a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the project in H1 2025. 🚀 Starting at a potential 19,500 tons in 2027 📈 Volumes potentially scaling up to 397,000 tons cumulatively by 2033 📜 Delivered contract price of €1,000 per ton 💰 Total contract value of up to €397 million The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) has committed €4.43 billion to H2Global’s ‘double-auction’ mechanism implemented by HINT.CO GmbH to facilitate the rapid expansion of renewable hydrogen and derivative products. This will help Europe’s energy security and emissions reduction efforts, with mitigated CO2-emissions by renewable ammonia imports equivalent to annual emissions of 62,000 cars.    Fertiglobe has been supported in its bid and will be ensured a secure supply of renewable hydrogen for the contract’s duration by Egypt Green Hydrogen - a consortium between Fertiglobe, Scatec ASA, Orascom Construction PLC, The Sovereign Fund of Egypt, and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE). During the #Egypt EU Investments Conference in Egypt, Ahmed El-Hoshy, CEO of Fertiglobe and OCI Global participated in the "Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen: The Full Value Chain Opportunity" panel alongside Ditte Juul Jørgensen from Energy at European Commission, Ayman Soliman, from The Sovereign Fund of Egypt, Waleid Gamal Eldien, MSc from Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Brian Davis from C2X and Terje Pilskog from Scatec ASA. El-Hoshy highlighted Fertiglobe’s focus on scaling up low-carbon and renewable ammonia production to contribute to the decarbonization of those in our value chain. In 2023, Fertiglobe shipped the world’s first renewable ammonia with ISCC PLUS certification from our Egypt Green Hydrogen electrolyzer to Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited in India, enabling near-zero emissions soda ash production to be used in laundry powder. Our flagship green hydrogen project in Egypt, the first integrated green hydrogen plant in Africa and outside Europe, will produce up to 13,00 tonnes of green hydrogen annually at full scale, generating up to 70,000 tonnes of renewable ammonia. Hesham Yehia Khalifa, Sustainability Director at Fertiglobe, joined Shigeru Muraki from Clean Fuel Ammonia Association, Kenji Takahashi from JERA Co., Inc., Shinichi Takano from IHI Corporation, Kenji Konno from ACME Group, and Yuriy Humber from Japan NRG at the Japan Energy Summit and Exhibition 2024 in #Tokyo in a panel titled “Tackling Hard-to-Abate Sectors with Ammonia”. Yehia shed light on the changing regulatory framework, with #Korea, #Japan and #Europe being at the forefront of driving low-carbon ammonia demand, particularly for power generation. Further to Fertiglobe’s recent success in low-carbon ammonia co-firing trials, with several cargoes delivered by Fertiglobe and ADNOC to these regions, we have recently announced awarding the construction contract for the Ta’ziz 1mtpa low carbon ammonia plant in the UAE, with production expected to start in 2027.
