I had the privilege to keynote the 10th edition of the IDC #Mauritius CIO summit today. This island nation is not just a tourism destination—it’s transforming into an attractive tech hub, offering unique opportunities for both companies and professionals. Interacting with leading CIOs from the public and private sectors during the summit, I am impressed that Mauritius is making impressive strides in digital transformation, positioning itself as a leader in Africa’s tech landscape. With a supportive government, robust digital policies, and a commitment to technology-driven economic growth, the island nation is creating a vibrant digital ecosystem—and #AI is taking center stage.   AI presents exciting growth opportunities for the island nation in several ways:         1. Enhanced Public Services: The Mauritian government can further leverage AI to streamline services, from e-governance to innovative city initiatives, enabling faster and more efficient interactions with citizens, tourists, residents, and businesses.       2. Economic Growth & Innovation: AI adoption can fuel local startups and attract international tech firms, especially in sectors like finance, healthcare, and tourism.
