We are pleased to announce the opening of our new office in Riga, Latvia!🎉 With our newly established office, we are expanding beyond technical ship management and into crew management as well. Our Technical Director, Igor Bondar, highlights, “By also overseeing Crew Management, Montec ensures consistent, high-quality services throughout the organisation. It will improve work terms and conditions for the crew, reduce mistakes, and enhance alignment and efficiency. This approach sets higher standards for crew and operations, which is good for the long-term business relationships.” Our new office is ideally situated in the same building as the Novikontas Training Center, where seafarers in the Baltic region receive their education and certification. This prime location means seafarers can easily stop by for a coffee or a good conversation. Our new 100-square-metre office can accommodate up to ten people and we already have three dedicated team members on board. We celebrated the establishment of our second office with a reception for our partners on Tuesday, 25 February 2025. We recently hosted our 14th Montec crew gathering – this time it was held in Latvia and was a day filled with learning, collaboration and recognition. We hold these events to continue to find new ways to improve our ship management services, keeping pace with our growing fleet and technical regulations.  The gathering brought together crew, Masters and Chief Officers from across the Monjasa fleet. We were pleased to also have Monjasa Group CEO, Anders Østergaard, join us and kick off the event with a speech, acknowledging the contributions of our crews. The day was highly interactive and featured presentations from Montec colleagues and dynamic Q&A sessions.  A key highlight was the training session led by Novikontas Training Center, focusing on essential safety measures and survival techniques at sea. Both crews and Montec colleagues demonstrated great expertise and commitment to ensuring safety at all levels. This month, we celebrate Purchase Coordinator, Dionisio Corpuz, completing 10 years in Montec! If you say Dionisio Corpuz– or Dennis as he is fondly known – most colleagues will think of #Dubai, where he has been based since joining us in 2014. With over 20 years of experience managing various vessels, including tugboats, barges, survey vessels, bunker vessels, and cargo vessels, Dennis has been an invaluable asset to Montec. As Purchase Coordinator, Dennis oversees the procurement of spare parts and essential materials for Monjasa’s vessels.   Over the past decade, Dennis has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and unwavering commitment to Montec’s goals. His dedication, combined with his meticulous attention to detail, ensures that the needs of all vessels in West Africa are met efficiently and effectively.   On a daily basis, Dennis is known for being humble, and easy to get along with. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys seeking adventures and activities in nature with family and friends. Recently, our Marine Service Manager, Roman Bondar, travelled to Copenhagen to meet up with our marine insurance provider, Skuld, where safety was a key topic. “During our meeting with Skuld, we centred around topics such as crew safety, how to reduce medical cases and optimise crew performance. As a global marine insurer, Skuld brings valuable insights to the table. We are also pleased with the strong ties we have fostered with local Shipping and Protection & Indemnity (P&I) organisations and agents in Manila, such as Andrew Malpass from Pandiman Philippines, Inc. as a significant percentage of our crew originates from the Philippines. Friday 10 May we all learned something new!   On this day, we hosted our Annual Crew Conference – this time held in Dubai. The main purpose of this event is to keep finding new ways to improve our ship management services to match the growing fleet size and technical regulations we face.   “If our goal is to have top performing officers and crew members, we need to learn from each other across departments, ships and ranks. We must proceed with open discussions on where we can improve as one Montec team,” says Igor Bondar, Montec Technical Director.   Together, our cadets, crew and officers represented the UAE, Panama, Egypt, the Philippines and the Baltics. All under one roof to share their personal experiences with working on board the Monjasa fleet in different regions of the world.   We also had our Technical, Purchase, HSEQ and Vetting departments with us – as well as Ken Hüüdma and Mathias Buch representing Monjasa’s Operations department.   Last, but not least, we were pleased to welcome Monjasa Group CEO, Anders Østergaard on stage to share insights on Monjasa and their tanker fleet developments with us.   Wishing fair winds to everyone who participated - and to all seafarers out there. That makes it 7. Last year’s fleet survey and maintenance campaign came to a great end!    With Monjasa Promoter out of dry dock in Santander in Spain and making her way back to Portland in the English Channel, we concluded 2023 with a total of 7 dry dockings. Uniform and well-maintained tankers have become a Monjasa trademark and we have collected these images from all 7 dry dockings – including some of the indispensable specialist workers enabling us to fuel global trade. Monjasa Thunder Monjasa Reformer  Monjasa Promoter Monjasa Refiner Monjasa Trader Monjasa Shipper Monjasa Leader    These dry dockings involved everything from renewal surveys and installment of ballast water treatment systems – to name change, hull blasting and painting matching the Monjasa fleet design.    Overall, the Monjasa fleet comprises 30 tankers and barges deployed worldwide.  #quality #tankers #maritime
