Organon was honored to participate in the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Development, hosted by the Ministerial Group for Human Development and held under the auspices of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in the vibrant city of Cairo. This congress was a significant platform gathering experts, policymakers, and key stakeholders from around the globe to collaborate, share experiences, best practices and learnings to achieve a healthier, more equitable future. The event emphasized the Egyptian government’s commitment to confronting population and health challenges, amplifying the collaborative spirit needed to drive progress. With this year’s focus going beyond population health, it centered around human development and investing in human capital as well as understanding the interconnectedness of various healthcare components—policies, funding, community resources, and social determinants of health and allocation of domestic resources more deliberately. At Organon Egypt, we remain steadfast in our dedication to championing initiatives that contribute to enhancing women’s health and well-being in Egypt. Proudly spotlighting Ramy Koussa Organon’s META Associate Vice President engaging on a panel titled Revolutionizing Healthcare: Leveraging Investments for Sustainable Growth during the recent PHDC ’24. Investing in women’s health is unrivalled in its return on investment on the health of all. While enhancing women’s health boosts economic outcomes, its primarily about achieving health equity and inclusivity. Addressing the gap in women’s health gap and ensuring investment especially in underserved communities is crucial to improving the quality life for women. Women’s health is often simplified to only her reproductive health, which meaningfully underrepresents a women’s health burden. Which is why at Organon we are committed to going beyond her reproductive health and looking into health conditions that are unique to women or affect her disproportionately. Our purpose is to advance the complete health of women at all stages of her life journey. However, addressing women’s health cannot be done alone which is why partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem are crucial. By convening and catalyzing an ecosystem of like-minded partners and innovators, we can spark collective action to deliver a new era in healthcare that empowers women globally. Thank you to Dr. Laila Baker for moderating such an enriching discussion and to the fellow speakers Dr. Hugo Hagen, and Manish Pant for sharing their insight. #womenhealth #hereforhealth #parnerships #investmentinginwomenshealth

As we reflect on the recent Global Population, Health and Human Development Congress ’24 it was great seeing Charlotte Owens, MD, FACOG Organon’s Head of Global Medical Affairs & Outcomes Research sharing her expertise as part of the panel titled “Empowering families, building a future: the family planning concept evolution”. Charlotte unpacked the evolving concept of family planning, emphasizing its role as a fundamental right. Highlighting the essential role of the private sector in ensuring access to family planning options as well as always working to expand the available options while ensuring quality and safety remain at the forefront. Family planning is a key contributor to reduce maternal mortality, unplanned pregnancies as well as other potential medical risks that may occur such as pre-term labor. By emphasizing family planning we are not only positively impacting families and societies but also contributing to the broader social fabric by reducing poverty and improving overall health outcomes. As we continue to champion women's health, we are excited to be part of the collaborative efforts that are shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for healthier women, families, and communities. By expanding choice, promoting education, public awareness, building capacity and fostering collaboration we can create a better and healthier future for her and for all. Our very own Mokgadi (Lischen) Mashishi Organon’s META Africa Access Markets Director took the stage on an insightful panel titled Population dynamics and sustainability: Challenges and Proposed Solutions at the PHDC ’24. Throughout the discussion, it became evident that if we want to contribute to social and economic change, we have to focus on population dynamics centering our socioeconomic policies on the family unit. Key to this is family planning and spacing, essential to population growth, migration and overall economic growth. It is also a powerful intervention that can be used to reduce maternal mortality rates, a core aspect of women health. Our role as the private sector is to play a critical role in mitigating any impact the external environment may have on health services, while also ensuring the availability of medication through partnerships with key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem. At Organon we are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint and ensuring that women worldwide have access to quality healthcare services. Thank you to Mr. Elie Abouaoun (DDS, MBA) for moderating such an insightful panel and to all the speakers Dr. Alessio Cangiano, Mr. Willis Odek, Prof. Hussein A. Sayed, Dr. SAMEERA MAZIAD ALTUWAIJRI and Dr. Michela Martini, let’s work together for a better and healthier future for her and for all. #hereforherhealth #womenhealth #populationdymanmics Organon South Africa

Today we saw our Global Marketing VP Simon Holland take the stage on a vital conversation around “Getting governance right for sustainable, equitable and inclusive human development” among other esteemed speakers Arkan El Seblani, Ni'ma Saeed Abid, and Dr. David Wilson. The panel centered on the Importance of governance in promoting sustainable development, the key challenges and their impact on inclusive human development. Addressing women’s health is crucial when thinking about creating an inclusive and sustainable community. At the center of governance is investment and the tackling of misinformation, according to research every 1$ invested in family planning results in 120 $ in benefit in improved health outcomes or economic benefit. A woman should be aware of the available family planning methods, so she can make the choices that are best for her. When she is healthy, she is empowered, which will positively impact her community, her society and her economy. Thank you to Sarah Hariz Organon’s META Government Relations Lead for moderating such an enriching session. As highlighted during the session the perfect governance is about creating a system that works for everyone leaving no one behind, especially those who are underserved such as women. #hereforherhealth #womenhealth #governance #sustainable development
