I'm filled with emotion as I return to work at Siegel+Gale after my fourth (!) maternity leave. There are the usual "first day of school" jitters, excitement to reconnect with coworkers and to use a different part of my brain that hasn't been tapped in several months (please excuse me if I burst out into Cocomelon during a meeting. IYKYK), and the unavoidable sadness and, at times, guilt as I say goodbye to four sweet faces in the morning. This isn't my first rodeo, so I generally know what to expect when transitioning back, but this time, it feels different. I have renewed optimism and energy as I step into a new position as Managing Director of Siegel+Gale's New York office. Having been with the firm for 11+ years, I care deeply about our amazing people, clients and work; I am honored to take on this role. And I hope to bring the same positivity and curiosity to the office that my four daughters have impressed upon me these last few months. I will forever cherish the time that I had while on leave.
