MEIMA - Middle East Investment Management Association Welcomes UAE’s VAT Exemption for Investment Funds   The MEIMA - Middle East Investment Management Association has welcomed the UAE’s recent decision to exempt investment funds and virtual asset services from value-added tax (VAT). In a comment for Gulf News, MEIMA Secretary Dr Bhaskar Dasgupta commented:   “MEIMA supports the exemption of investment fund services and virtual asset services from the UAE VAT regime. This aligns the UAE with leading international financial centers and will drive growth in the investment management sector. The exemption is expected to benefit smaller, emerging segments of the industry, including venture capital, cryptocurrency, hedge, carbon, ESG, and commodity funds, where assets under management (AUM) are typically smaller. By reducing costs and improving net returns for investors, the move is likely to attract new fund setups and increase international allocator interest in the UAE’s investment ecosystem.”   With this reform, the UAE strengthens its position as a premier destination for investment funds and paves the way for accelerated industry growth.   #UAEFinance #VATExemption #InvestmentFunds #MEIMA   https://lnkd.in/deqmfihJ
