A lap pool is a perfect example of combining aesthetics with functionality, offering a calm environment for both exercise and relaxation. Lap pools are specially designed for continuous swimming, making them ideal for fitness enthusiasts. They provide a dedicated space for low impact workouts and cardiovascular health improvement. The concept of lap pools dates back to ancient Greece and Rome, where they were used for athletic training and military exercises. In the 1970s, Cleo Baldon popularized this design in California, drawing inspiration from the irrigation trenches in Washington state’s apple orchards. At Six Senses Kyoto, the lap pool is more than just a place for swimming, it’s a luxurious retreat that includes features like non-slip surfaces, underwater lighting, and integrated spa elements.
