Today is World Milk 🥛 Day 🍀🔬👩🔬🧪⚗️🧫 Although humans began drinking milk when animals were domesticated in the Neolithic era around 9000-7000 BC, the ability to tolerate lactose was missing in adults throughout human history before this era. Until a later genetic mutation allowed us to drink milk, milk was considered very important in most cultures, as it was an essential element in the mythology of the Pharaohs, Sumerians, and Greeks. Princesses, queens, and empresses of the Roman era also used milk baths due to its skin-softening benefits. Health-wise and nutritionally, milk contains important nutritional elements, but they sometimes differ in type and percentage depending on the type of milk, the producing breed, the type of food, and others. The nutritional elements generally include calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D, and protein. It is also rich in vitamins B12, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and niacin. (Vitamin B3) These nutrients help maintain healthy bones, heart, and brain Although milk is used as a raw material in the food industry, it is also widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries due to its great biological potential. According to a scientific article published in 2021, #cow milk products in soap played a role in maintaining healthy skin, good cleansing, and antibacterial properties. Bovine colostrum also played a role in healing difficult-to-heal wounds caused by erythema of the buttocks and erosive #erythema. According to the same article, skimmed #donkey milk modified in the laboratory using nanoparticles had moisturizing properties and #anti_aging effects. As for #colostrum and #Horse milk, they had benefits in completely regenerating the skin, fighting acne and skin lesions, relieving pain, and rebuilding the epithelium (in cases of fire burns).
