🧜♀️ Two years ago, Nada Alrasheed told the instructor in one of her first freediving classes that she wanted to be the deepest Saudi. 🇸🇦 She did that multiple times, and at the recent CMAS - World Underwater Federation World Championships - Depth in Greece 🇬🇷, she not only became the deepest Saudi, but also the deepest Arab woman in bi-fin. I’ve spent 16 years in the sports industry, with 12 in football and only 1 dedicated specifically to #womensfootball, through my club Banaat FC. And what a year it’s been! Last week was a celebration of how far we’ve already come and how much further we’re going. The Banaat FC x Nike event at Nike Dubai Mall was much more than a jersey launch—it was a powerful reminder of the impact we’re making in women's football and easily the most important moment of my career. In front of our lilac swoosh, with a backdrop of the iconic Dubai Mall fountain and the Burj Khalifa, I shared the lilac stage with some of our incredibly inspiring players and a special MC who’s one of our biggest fans. We talked about our journeys—the highs, the lows, what keeps us going, who inspires us, our values, our goals for this season, and our future plans. Through this event, we gave our young academy players a glimpse of the future they can build with Banaat FC. We couldn't have made it here without the unwavering support of the UAE Football Association, who has backed us since that first phone call when I called to say I was forming the club. Thank you to the Dubai Sports Council for your support and guidance on how to make this club all that it can be. And to TikTok MENA and Pickl —you’re legends for supporting us with groundbreaking ‘first ever’ that count for both your companies and our club. 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗵 is making HISTORY 🤺🇦🇪 She’s the FIRST female athlete to represent the UAE at the Veteran Fencing World Championships, happening right now at Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai until 17 October. She's also the ONLY Arab female competing. From her start as a young fencer to becoming UAE’s first champion, Hala didn’t just show up, she SHOWED how its done! Her journey from a national champ to regional icon in fencing is a lesson in grit, passion, and smashing limits. She’s set the bar HIGH and is showing the world what UAE fencing is all about!
