La Cantera Golf Club has been highlighted in LINKS Magazine as one of the Top 10 former PGA Courses to play. "The Lone Star State is chock full of compelling public courses that doubled as longtime PGA Tour hosts. Among them are The Golf Club of Houston’s Tournament course (formerly known as Redstone), which hosted the Houston Tour stop from 2006-20; TPC Las Colinas near Dallas, formerly a Four Seasons property and now a Ritz-Carlton, home to the Byron Nelson event from 1986–2017; and Brackenridge Park in San Antonio, home to the Texas Open from 1922–26, again from 1929–40, and again on multiple occasions throughout the 1950s. Raintree Golf and Event Center in Green, Ohio will have a new fleet of Club Car golf carts when the golf season begins this spring. The new carts are equipped with the Visage Connect System featuring GPS technology, built-in Bluetooth speakers, pace of play information, digital scoring and more. The technology upgrade aligns with the City of Green’s continued efforts to be on the forefront of technology and guest services at the city-owned Raintree Golf and Event Center. Raintree’s new golf car fleet features next-generation technology that includes a best-in-class 10-inch LCD display user interface with enhanced 3D graphics, slope-adjusted GPS yardages, and tablet-like responsive touch and pinch, zoom and swipe functionality. Indian Wells Golf Resort – the world-class golf, vacation, culinary and events destination located in the picturesque Coachella Valley – announces the official groundbreaking of the much-anticipated renovation of its celebrated Players Course on March 5. Led by distinguished golf course architect John Fought and his team, the renovation will see multiple holes rerouted – most notably the ninth, 17th and 18th holes. Currently a par 72, the Players Course will transform to a par of 71 and will feature two exciting new finishing holes. The par-3 No. 17 and par-4 No. 18 holes are currently the only two holes on the south side of the Whitewater Wash running through the property. La Paloma Country Club in Tucson, Arizona will host the 2025 Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences, March 7 – 9. The fourth event of the PGA TOUR Champions 2025 season, La Paloma Country Club is hosting the popular tournament for the second consecutive year. The 2025 Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences will feature a 78-player field competing for a $2.2 million purse, with $330,000 to the winner. Defending tournament champion Joe Durant is joined in the 2025 field by past champions David Toms (2023), Miguel Angel Jimenez (2022), Kevin Sutherland (2021), Bernhard Langer (2020), Tom Lehman (2017) and Woody Austin (2016). Also in the field is two-time Charles Schwab Cup winner Steven Alker (2022 and 2024), along with World Golf Hall of Fame members Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and Padraig Harrington. Cologuard ambassador, Jerry Kelly, along with Justin Leonard, Stewart Cink, Stephen Ames, Mike Weir and Richard Green are also committed to play. Finca Cortesin, host venue of the 2023 Solheim Cup, has conducted a ground-breaking new environmental study that showcases the ability for golf courses to be sanctuaries for biodiversity. The Golf & Birds study, which spanned from October 2022 to October 2023, underscores the resort’s mission to connect sport with nature, positioning it as a leader in sustainable golf tourism. Located near the Strait of Gibraltar, a vital migratory corridor between Europe and Africa, Finca Cortesin has embraced its responsibility to protect avian species that rely on the area during seasonal journeys. Over the 12-month study, ornithologists and environmental experts conducted monthly bird censuses at 11 designated observation points across the course’s playing and non-playing areas.
