Despite recent market volatility that involved an Asian market sell-off in the first week of September, analysts remain optimistic about the long-term prospects of Asian stock markets. While short-term factors like weak US economic data and declines in tech stocks have led to sell-offs, the underlying fundamentals of Asia's economies remain strong.   Jingwei Chen, Chief investment Strategist of wealth management platform WRISE Private Singapore, shared that the adage "when the US sneezes, the world catches a cold" is highly relevant here. Kallista: My interest in marketing led me to pursue internships for firsthand experience in the field. I am intrigued by the growing role of family offices in wealth management, which this internship at WRISE explores.   Q:  How does this internship contribute to your personal and professional growth? Kallista: As a newcomer to the working world, I faced many learning curves, but I was fortunate to receive invaluable guidance from my mentors. The experience taught me to take initiative, improve my social skills, and deepen my understanding of the wealth management industry. I also developed my creativity and strategic thinking by curating content for WRISE’s social platforms and advancing my professional skills.   Q: What new skills or experiences have you gained during your time here? Kallista: The most memorable part of my internship was designing artwork, particularly using Adobe Photoshop, which enhanced my editing skills. Interacting with colleagues and learning about their career experiences inspired me for my future career path, for which I am grateful.
