MEP BIM Coordinator

Job Summary:

The MEP BIM Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects. This role involves collaboration with various project stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient BIM implementation, enhancing project delivery and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• BIM Management and Coordination:
• Develop and manage BIM models for MEP systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems into the overall project BIM model.
• Review and verify the accuracy of MEP BIM models, ensuring all elements are correctly represented.
• Modeling and Documentation:
• Create detailed 3D models of MEP systems using BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
• Produce and maintain BIM documentation, including model specifications, standards, and guidelines.
• Generate construction documents and shop drawings from BIM models.
• Quality Control:
• Conduct regular quality checks and clash detection to ensure the integrity and accuracy of MEP BIM models.
• Identify and resolve any clashes or issues in the BIM models in collaboration with project teams.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures for BIM processes.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Facilitate coordination meetings with project stakeholders to discuss BIM-related issues and updates.
• Provide technical support and training to project teams on BIM tools and processes.
• Communicate BIM standards and best practices to all relevant project participants.
• Project Support:
• Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines related to BIM activities.
• Support project managers in tracking and reporting BIM progress and performance.
• Participate in project reviews and provide input on BIM-related matters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM coordination, preferably within the MEP discipline.
• Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
