I’ve known these incredible women for some time, but meeting Rebecca Woods, MHA, SHIMSS, PM and Dawn Whitney in person for the first time at the CHIME Fall Forum was truly inspiring. They bring both warmth and tenacity to the mission of elevating women in healthcare IT leadership. Rebecca Woods, founder of Bluebird Leaders has dedicated nearly two decades to healthcare IT, carving out spaces where women can grow, learn, and connect. Her vision to empower women through her nonprofit is simply extraordinary, and meeting her face-to-face only deepened my admiration for her passion and dedication. Then there’s Dawn Whitney, the driving force behind ElevateX Leadership Collective, who brings over 30 years of wisdom in executive coaching and transformative leadership. Her authenticity and energy are contagious, and watching her engage with others at the forum underscored why she’s such a force in empowering leaders to reach their full potential. Together, these two are much more than colleagues—they’re a duo dedicated to making meaningful change. Their work, seen at events like the #SOAR conference, has already created a ripple effect, bringing women to the forefront of healthcare leadership. It was a privilege to finally connect with them in person, witnessing the impact they make firsthand and sharing in their vision for a more inclusive, empowered future for women in health IT. It was an honor to be in the company of these awesome leaders over a dinner that also included incredible Maureen Nylin MSN, RN, CHCIO, PMP, CDH-L , poised Bridget Bell, and emerging leader Liat Kozuch.
