Futures/Past
07:25

We once held time within our bones, but it all gave way when hope turned to stone.
Reaching out, and looking back.
The calm never lasts
We disappear into the bloodless now, always approaching, but never here.
And hope waits on forever.
Somewhere where love and anger have their place.
Like knives to cut, like flames to burn all that stands in our way.
We’ve turned away, we’re caught in the wind.
Yesterday has returned again.
It’s calling forth, the storm from before.
The wreckage mounts, there’s wolves at the door.
We’re speeding up, We’ve slowed to a crawl.
We’ve lost all sight of something else at all.
But as it comes undone, we’ll finally see
Our futures past, will set us free
Between the weight of yesterday
And the uncertainty ahead, consider all who’ve departed
In this storm of progress, even the dead will not be safe!
Without a now that promises a future better than what’s been

Years of Silicon
07:17

They force compliance as we breathe in the new air
But a new day is dawning, a new age for them to fear
They suffocate every fire.
And I’m tired of watching lights go out.
While speaking with silver tongues , they extinguish our hope with their boots on our necks.
Years of blood, Years of lead
And now we look on as thousands stand shoulder to shoulder with the agents of decay
Soon, all will witness the final death throes of a world that was built on destruction and pain.
Our lungs were lined with lead, our flesh decayed
But now we live inside machines, our blood will never flow the same way
Once lined with lead, now our flesh decayed
Inside machines now, our blood will never flow the same way
They suffocate every fire and extinguish hope, years of silicon go on and on and on…
Come set fires of hope
Years of Silicon
Still, this cycle of pain once forged in iron is now in our veins.
So call them forth, to make whole what they stole.
Call them forth
Call them forth
To make whole
What they stole
What’s been left for us that's not fodder on which they feed?
What's left for us? Where is their reckoning?
Awaken the reckoning for everything that they have tried to hide.
What’s left for us? Where is retribution?
We are the reckoning of this new age!
Call them forth!
Call them forth!

Unlit Beacon

They told us love would bridge the gap
But lately I’m not in the mood.
They sold the straight and narrow path
But lined their pockets with gold and blood.
And so I’ll close the door.
My eyes fixed lower than before.
Because we’re all we have.
Once all our fictions are lost, and time regained
We’ll stand up tall, we’ll break our chains.
And on that day we will see there’s nothing else.
No space beyond; just you and me.
I see now
We’re all we have
Wash away all of this, and all illusions die
With eyes fixed lower still, I see clearly now
I once reached for heaven but fell embraced in flames.
Water filled my lungs, I've never been the same.
Now I have broken bonds to finally feel free
to redefine our hope
In all uncertainty
I see now that we are all we have
Wash away all this, and all illusions die.
I see now that we are all we have.

In this dark world of cement and wires
We sing a canticle for our languished hearts:
Beneath the stones, another world!
So remove the cancer, and cut the lines.
Everything that we’ve known is crumbling
And now we see:
Beneath the stones, another world!
Unhook our veins, and bleed again!
So we can feel again: indignation draped in hope
See again: all that's been buried and all we’ve lost
Bleed again:
untether now from eternal toil
untether now from eternal toil
untethered now from eternal toil
and bleed again
We’ll remove the stones, one by one, over and over again until it’s finally undone
We’ll speak with stones, many voices as one, over and over again
Until it’s finally undone
