Fan Key Messages: - To achieve high team velocity and output, a balanced combination of software methodology, collaboration among cross-functional teams, continuous integration, delivery, improvement, and autonomy is essential. API product development is no exception. - Developers appreciate APIs for their reusability, automation potential, and standardization. However, there are obstacles they face in consuming APIs if things aren't done right, such as outdated documentation and difficulties in timely discovery. - APIs have unique challenges and requirements that may not be adequately addressed by standard DevOps practices alone. APIOps combines DevOps and GitOps practices with a Specification Centric Mindset, considering elements like the OpenAPI Spec, and treats APIs as products. - Different approaches to API development, such as Code First vs. API Spec First, play a significant role in modern APIOps management in various scenarios.
