  • Take a look at how FEAS member CSDI is managing e-Service Desk operations! Central Securities Depository of Iran provides an efficient IT infrastructure and service desk as a single point of contact for stakeholders in the capital market. #FEAS #FEASMembers

🔶️🔷️🔸️ 𝗖𝗦𝗗𝗜 𝗘-𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸; 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 & 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Central Securities Depository of Iran (CSDI) is using IT infrastructure and service desk as a single point of contact for its clients’ issues. Our #eServiceDesk operations are delivered through a set of tools and processes providing efficient and cost-effective services to capital market #stakeholders i.e. #investors, #issuers, #brokers, etc. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 This can refer to correcting any type of information related to the user, such as: • 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: Name, address, date of birth, bank account number, etc. • 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: Username, password, email address, etc. • 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦: Correcting errors or inaccuracies in data Sometimes there are discrepancies between the registered information of shareholders with the #data available in the post-trade system. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 The stakeholder notifies CSDI about a difference between the number of shares they believe they own and the number of shares that are officially recorded in their name. Accurate #recordkeeping is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the capital market, protecting shareholders' rights and preventing fraud. 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 Ban on sales are often imposed due to legal, regulatory, or contractual reasons, including: • 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴; court orders, regulatory restrictions, etc. • 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴; loan covenants, etc. • 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴; to protect investors or maintain market stability. • 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴; such as restrictions on employee stock options. 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗿𝘀 To submit a service desk #ticket, the representative needs to enter the name, national ID number and date of birth of the deceased, then upload the required documents and receive a tracking number. Here, the transfer process begins. 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 Shareholders can inquire about the authority ordering the seizure of their assets or place a request to remove it. 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 Our support specialists respond to shareholders #inquiries about the documents they need to offer to have their securities pledged, unpledged or sell the ones already under pledge. 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 Shareholders will easily leverage a Power of Attorney for navigating eligibility and legal compliance to pledge or sell their securities. Beyond automation, CSDI electronic service desk reduces bottlenecks in #workflows with features like integration with tools like #CRM system, making it easier for us to manage workloads efficiently.

  • Family businesses are the backbone of many economies, including Cyprus, contributing significantly to GDP and employment. However, these businesses often face challenges, particularly when transitioning from one generation to the next. Did you know that, according to a study published on Cornell University's website, the average lifespan of a family business is 24 years? A potential solution, as Mr. Marinos Christodoulides suggests, is listing on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. This offers family businesses the opportunity to raise capital, ensure sustainability, and promote growth while benefiting from increased transparency and regulatory compliance. As we look to the future, it’s clear that leveraging financial markets can be a key factor in ensuring the continued success and expansion of family-owned companies. The meeting focused on the strategy of expanding the range of services central securities depositories offer beyond their traditional functions of #safekeeping securities, facilitating #settlements, and maintaining ownership records. Siavash Azimi, CSDI’s International Relations Director and Corporate Secretary, highlighted the fact that #diversification can help CSDs address market demands, enhance revenue streams, and mitigate #risks associated with a limited service #portfolio. He also enumerated growth in the revenue, risk mitigation during market downturn, competitiveness in the market, and enhanced market #efficiency as the benefits of diversification for CSDs. As for the challenges, the CSDI International relations director said, “Once you have proven that change is possible, it takes #diligence in the face of regulatory #compliance disputes, finite financial and operational resources, market trust to CSD’s capabilities and risks related to experimenting novel concepts to develop a wider range of services and products.” 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 1 April 2024 CSD Models, Strategies, Innovations, Current Trends and Best practices 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 2 July 2024 Linkages between CSDs 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 3 October 2024 Depositories Databases & FEAS Database structure 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 4 Jan 2025 Diversification of CSD Services: Fostering Resilience and Sustainability 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦 “𝗖𝗦𝗗’𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗲- 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲” 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 The working group aims to foster greater #connectivity, growth, and #harmonization in pre- and #PostTrade processes among #FEAS members, with a focus on enhancing the role of CSDs in #CapitalMarket development. #CSDI #FEAS #Depository #Settlement #CapitalMarket #WorkingGroup #Safekeeping #Diversification #Risk #Portfolio #Efficiency #Dilligence #Compliance #Connectivity #Harmonization
