Useful tool with lots of potential.
The apps features and standard models are very great intuitive to use. It’s amazing this is free.
But I wanted a body type that had longer slimmer legs and was more adult.
As someone totally new to vrm or any kind of 3D modelling, I took a night to learn about how to use the vrm loading feature of the app, about which there is surprisingly little info.
So to help others here’s a little info on what I did to make my custom model:
1) Download VRoid Studio on your MacBook or PC and make a custom model.
2) Export as vrm file and bring it into your iPad so you can load it into the Posearch app.
The only request I would like to make to the devs is this.
Please make a dynamic lighting feature.
I made a nude mesh in Vroid Studio, and it loads fine.
The only problem is all the Posearch app presents the model with uniform lighting and most of the details and contours on my models body is lost due to lack of shadow.
I’ll try custom shading on the textures to show the contours but that’s an extra step.
This imo is the only missing feature that makes the VRM compatibility somewhat lacking. Everything else is amazing.

Limited yet useful
Ok, so sketching stick figure to find pose feature does not work well, but posing and expression options are good. Simple and useful for a free app.
