Paint X Premium 4+

MS Paint is just king in terms of simple paint applications - nothing ive come across comes close to it and how it works. Though this almost fills that gap. ALMOST

Good

- Has all the basic features of MS Paint (for Windows 7+). I primarily use the line and shape tool, fill tool, and the transparent image pasting, and the color replace sometimes. Happy to say this app has all of those things.
- More paint brush types.
- Lets you specify the number of Undos you can make which is cool.

Bad

- Can be slow and sluggish esp when you’ve zoomed in and scrolling.
- Has some bugs (probably other annoying bugs I haven’t come across yet).
- The eraser also uses the stroke size which I hate, if im gonna erase I have to change the stroke size then change back when im done which is annoying.
- The most annoying bug I’ve come across is when drawing a 1-pixel sized line from right to left results in the beginning to be pushed 1 pixel up or down but will draw a perfectly straight line from left to right (weird) which is quite annoying to be honest and hope this gets fixed SOON.
- For what the app offers, $10 is a bit pricey

Something interesting I noticed also Anti-aliasing setting is inconsisten between the free and pro version. The free version has a checkbox to enable/disable it in the preferences/advanced settings. Enabled by default. On the pro version the checkbox is absent (maybe its somewhere else) and is disable by default.

you try to blend or use settings/brushes other than plain paint or draw. Then you lose the smooth texture and end up with a checkerboard texture. I bought this for my daughter, and she is unable to use it for anything she wants other peoplet to see.

Perhaps this could be considered a bug, and could be fixed with an upgrade? Had this been pointed out in the description, I would have continued looking and bought a different app.

The old Claris Works paint program was a real gem. I would love to see it revived.

Great app for editing photos but lousy for drawing.
It didn't use to be. I use to love this app because drawing was a lot of fun. But now its horrible. You used to be able to draw clean straight lines, rectangles, squares, and circles. But now it leaves double images. Also when you wanted to get rid of a certain color, you could splash it away with white using the paint bucket and it would get rid of it completley, but now it leaves an outline of the old color. I used to love this app and played with it a lot. But now I seldom use it because the quality is so bad. I don't know what they did to it, but I wish they had just left it alone. It was much better before.
