FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE and SUSTAINABILITY can and must go hand-in-hand! That’s the message I relayed last week at UN Climate Week in New York. Along with my Danone colleagues, we met with industry peers, government officials, NGOs, and more, to discuss how we are turning sustainability into a competitive edge – and what needs to be done to go further: best-practice sharing, and PUBLIC-PRIVATE COLLABORATION. Alpro is proud to be part of the "Ēstprieks" ("Joy of Eating") charity campaign in Latvia, organized by Bērnu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca (Latvia’s Children's Clinical University Hospital) in collaboration with Maxima Latvija, recognized by the The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia. ''Promoting healthy eating is vital for everyone, particularly for children, as it lays the groundwork for lifelong healthy habits. In Latvia, hospital food has historically faced criticism from young patients, but the "Joy of Eating" initiative has been making significant strides over the past four years. We are thrilled to have played a role in this transformation, increasing children’s preference for hospital meals!'' says Agnete Līcīte-Lasmane, Head of Alpro in Nordics & Baltics. We aim to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating within families. Through our participation, we are committed to fostering a healthier future where nutritious and sustainable meals are an integral part of everyday life. Let’s work together for a healthier tomorrow! 💚

With 1 billion people suffering from conditions linked to disease-related malnutrition, Danone has the responsibility to help drive better outcomes and quality of life through our medical nutrition portfolio. Currently, only 1 in 3 people who need it receive medical nutrition. That’s why the annual ESPEN congress is crucial for us. As Europe’s leading adult medical nutrition company with 125 years of expertise through Nutricia, we engage with healthcare professionals, drive educational activities, and spotlight our pioneering solutions.   This year in Milan, we showcased our latest innovations in cancer, frailty, and critical care, including our needs-based cancer care portfolio, our plant-based products, and our new tube feeding standard. We are uniquely positioned to support patients at every step of the journey. Our presence at ESPEN reaffirmed our mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, aligning with the next chapter of the Renew Danone strategy, where science, innovation, and medical nutrition are at the heart. Just attended the International Business Leaders Advisory Council hosted by the Mayor of Shanghai. Along with Bruno Chevot, we met fellow leaders and gained fresh perspectives on developments in Shanghai and across China. I presented our vision on how digital technologies and big data can further promote wellness, transform healthcare, and drive sustainable growth in China – in line with our “In China for China” and for the rest of the world strategy – based on R&D investment and capability building. We are proud to serve millions of Chinese customers and patients, across our categories. With the next chapter of our Renew Danone strategy, we aim to bring health through food to even more people, innovating through science to meet changing needs and consumer trends. Thank you very much to our hosts and local Danone teams!

We are delighted to join the Advancing Women for Resilient Agricultural Supply Chains (AWRAS) initiative! 🌱    By joining this new public-private partnership, we are going the next mile in our Danone Impact Journey, expanding the work we have started with smallholder farmers, notably in Africa, to build a local dairy supply chain.     Together with USAID, PepsiCo, Unilever, McCormick & Company, and Nestlé Nespresso SA, we’re investing $50M to empower women in agriculture! By supporting women farmers, we can foster greater economic gains, improve environmental stewardship, and create lasting positive change for businesses and communities alike.    For Danone, this means increasing women’s access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making power in our supply chains, joining efforts with Danone Ecosystem to multiply impact.     Advancing women is key to building resilient supply chains and achieving lasting positive impact🌍💪    #AWRAS #GenderEquality #SustainableAgriculture

The recent ESPEN Congress on Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism in Milan provided a valuable platform to explore how the latest clinical evidence and technological advancements in nutrition can further enhance patient-centered innovation – an area in which Danone has been a leader for over a century. A key healthcare challenge we face today is ensuring that patients receive the appropriate nutrition at the right time. For us at Danone, this means continuing to support patients through tailored nutritional solutions, particularly in cancer care, and driving innovation in areas such as tube-feeding and plant-based medical nutrition. We also addressed the critical challenges surrounding the integration of medical nutrition into healthcare systems, including its incorporation into clinical guidelines. This is essential to improving patient outcomes, especially considering that currently only one in three patients who require medical nutrition actually receive it. Many thanks to all the Danone colleagues who contributed to our presence at the congress, and to those working daily in our R&I centers and operations to transform our scientific research into impactful nutritional solutions. #MedicalNutrition #PatientOutcomes #ClinicalGuidelines #ESPEN2024 Katrien van Laere Pablo Perversi Jean Marc Magnaudet

Envisioning the food of the future, together! Just met with participants of Danone’s Partner for Growth program, established a year ago to drive innovation to develop healthy, nutritious products and solutions for consumers and patients across the globe. P4G, a joint initiative that I have the pleasure to co-sponsor with Vikram Agarwal, now includes 19 partners from diverse companies and fields within our ecosystem. And we are setting our sights even higher – aiming to double our partners over the next two years. We have one common goal: to further our scientific expertise to drive consumer and patient-centric innovations, in a sustainable way. In our case, it’s about tapping into collective knowledge and using the best in science & technology to design superior nutritional solutions to bring health through food to as many people as possible. R&I plays an essential role in supporting Danone’s future growth and innovation, and partnerships, like P4G, are a critical part of that picture. What a feat! As an official partner of Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Danone has distributed 4 million of our dairy and plant-based products to athletes across competition sites. Thanks to the dedication of our Operations teams who have made this happen! It’s a great example of how we have built customer-centric capabilities across our end-to-end supply so that we are even more responsive and agile. Through this event, each team across #planning, #procurement, #manufacturing and #logistics has played its part – working together, to deliver our French dairy and plant-based brands to elite sportsmen, women and spectators across France. It shows how we are investing in our people and winning capabilities across Danone to transform our Operations network.

Runners from around the world powered up with healthy snacks provided by YoPRO for this year’s Sydney Marathon on September 15! As part of an exciting partnership with Sydney Marathon, the Danone Oceania team looked after runners in the recovery village on event day - as well as providing high-quality, high-protein, no added sugar snacks for members of the rapidly growing Sydney Marathon Run Clubs. We even had a few local Danoners joining #TeamYoPRO on the course, which passed through some of the city’s most spectacular landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We’re so proud to fuel the journey of the Sydney Marathon 2024 participants and trainers! #YoPRO #RunWithOikosJapan #HiPROFrance #GetPROUK
