It was great to be part of the Red Hat Summit: Connect London this week! It’s inspiring to witness the growing interest in virtualization, enterprise automation, and AI. Don’t miss Edwin's post highlighting his key takeaways from the event—be sure to check it out! #intive #redhat #summitconnect #ai #virtualisation
Very much enjoyed being at The Mermaid London for Red Hat Summit Connect London this week, the event gets bigger and stronger each year! Great to see Alex Berardinelli Keith Lynch Michael Browne Matthew Roberts Simon Mead Charlotte Counsell Janine Wallis Neal Evans Sam Marland Simon Fraser Jim Wigg Niraj Patel Chloe Wise and many others A full house (over 700), packed agenda and a number of sessions later my key takeaways: 1) Virtualisation. As the excellent keynote mentioned - who’d have thought that in 2024 we’d be talking about virtualisation. Again. Incidentally, I read an article earlier in the week about “those old enough to remember Twitter and 140 characters”. Really? Is SMS and 160 characters now the dark ages? Don’t answer that. 2. Enterprise Automation. I’m surprised to order this above, but only slightly above, the topic of AI. A number of great sessions around benefits and uses of both mission critical and event driven automation, wrapped with some real-world applications in the Enterprise by no less than JP Morgen Chase and Citi. With the surge in AI, we’re also experiencing more interest in the automation areas around intelligent decisioning making and assisted troubleshooting which brings us to… 3. AI. No surprise to find the AI/ML/DL topics strongly represented in the sessions through OpenShift AI, which we’re very familiar with in intive, and RHEL AI. Of particularly interest was how Red Hat are looking to solve the data protection/data privacy elephant with OpenShift AI. Sounds promising. I also appreciated Brian Gracely’s thoughts on application of smaller AI models trained on relevant data. 4. Managed OpenShift (ARO/ROSA etc.). The move to Hosted Control Plane (HCP) on ROSA is going to be interesting (and looks to have a significant cost saving). How will that balance with loss of ability to configure specific OpenShift settings or won’t that really matter for most organisations Platform Teams? Thanks to Andy Repton of the Red Hat black belt team for 3 demos in 30 Mins – taking on the demo gods like that is a great effort! On the topic of Managed OpenShift and ROSA, a reminder that intive and Red Hat are hosting a joint webinar on Thursday 17th October covering “Developer Experience (DevEx) on Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS” and we hope that you can join us. https://lnkd.in/eEr2kYe3 Finally, many thanks to the Red Hat UK team for putting this on the event! #intive #redhat #summitconnect #ai #virtualisation
