Aviva closes its seed round for $5.5M, which it will use to expand its presence in Mexico and increase its product offerings with the goal of reaching profitability by 2025. In addition to Newtopia VC, the round included participation from Krealo, Credicorp, Ignia Partners, Carao Ventures, Rainforest Capital, DCG, and current investors Wollef, 500 Global, and Magna VC. The startup, co-founded by Filiberto Castro, David Hernández, Amran Frey, and Israel Garcia, offers loans to individuals and small businesses, focusing on populations with less than 500,000 inhabitants who are primarily in the informal economy.
