The Robotic Upper Urinary Tract Surgery Course at the #21stAAUCongress was a very dynamic hands-on training program elevating robotic surgery expertise! This workshop included comprehensive lectures on the components of the Da Vinci surgical robotic system, covering its principles, instruments, ports placement, and patient positioning. Participants viewed video presentations of robotic upper urinary tract procedures, such as robotic partial nephrectomy and robotic pyeloplasty, and received training on Da Vinci Xi robotic simulators. They engaged in hands-on practice by performing robotic partial nephrectomy on a gel model. The workshop also addressed patient preparation, management of small renal masses, and the use of 3D modeling for surgical planning and navigation. Participants learned step-by-step surgical techniques for both transperitoneal and retroperitoneal robotic partial nephrectomy, as well as robotic pyeloplasty, with practical tips and tricks. Additionally, the workshop covered managing and preventing complications during robotic partial nephrectomy and upper tract procedures. This workshop was conducted by experts Raed Azhar, Ali Abdel Raheem, abdulhamed mansour, Chandru Sundaram, and Gonzalo Vitagliano.
