Dave Aftandilian Lovely epic and melancholy evocations of fantasy-themed winterscapes. Truly orchestral ambience; in fact, the album almost feels neoclassical to me at times. As I listen a hush falls upon the land while the snowflakes gently swirl from heaven to earth, and their icy kisses upon my cheeks turn to tears of loneliness in my heart. Yet my quest remains the same, so I turn and crunch first one foot, then the other, into the path beneath the newfallen snow.

Egg Wizard Its taken me a long time to warm to this collection of glacial tunes (ha); but at its finest it reminds me of the stellar ambience from the Temple of Elemental Evil soundtrack; which is about as high praise as I can offer Dungeon Synth. Involving. Favorite track: Isverden (Full Audio).

Michael Bynning If ever the soundtrack of Skyrim was to be rewritten.... it should be like this!

The mountain ranges rising up in the East of Dannigsfjorden have ever been a desolate place. Only a few Nordic tribes remained in the region after the Thunder War a few hundred years ago. Hidden deep in the archives of the Academy were the documents you now hold in your hands to uncover one of the darkest secrets of the continents' history. What you hope to find is the remains of the once mighty fortress that has been buried under rock and ice by a powerful spell, leaving everyone inside to a terrible, cold fate.

Make your way through the relentless cold and deep valleys in the winter snow. Discover what lies inside of the eternal ice of the glacier, which only opens its chasm on the day of winter solstice. Down in the Viking village, where your journey started, you only heard one phrase: “Beware of the snow storm!”.

The Beyond Skyrim composers have done a fascinating job at trying to follow in Soule's footsteps while also tapping into a side of Tamriel not seen in previous entries: a world defeated that is clinging to past pride. It's most notable in perhaps the anthem of Beyond Skyrim which is Daniel Ran's "Of Storms and Half light". Alex and the others do the same kind of work here and it produces a number of wonderful listens. "Heartland" is by far my favorite, the flute in it is chill-invoking. Feix
