#UnmetMedicalNeeds affect millions of people. Read the story in DER STANDARD here, featuring AOP Health's Panel Discussion about this topic: (note: German language) https://lnkd.in/geru3nYP

#Joining forces to tackle #UnmetMedicalNeeds! AOP Health welcomed colleagues and partners to this year's #BuildingBridges event at our Vienna HQ, an evening for open dialogue about #raredisease research and our collective potential. Special thanks to our speaker panel: Christa Wirthumer-Hoche, Claas Röhl, Susanne Bach, Prof. Dr. Giovanni Rubeis and DerStandard moderator Marlene Erhart and AOP Health's Johanna Grames and Viktoria Nickel for organizing the event. Finally, a warm thanks to our event partners DER STANDARD and PHARMIG. #KeyTakeaways from the discussion included: • Early dialogue which includes patients is important to create a common understanding of the specific unmet medical needs when starting a research program. • Patients suffer a great burden on their mental health, which is often neglected in the bigger treatment picture. • Reliable frameworks are necessary for cost-effective research. However, these frameworks need to be flexible enough to adapt to new discoveries, diagnosis and treatment possibilities. For AOP Health it is always at the #core to meet the needs of the patients. We aspire to being part of the discussion for regulatory frameworks which encompass relevant patient needs.
