There’s a chance coming up… At the European Training Symposium (EATS) in Cascais, Portugal, next week, we will be displaying a Diamond Aircraft demonstrator simulator, giving visitors the opportunity to sit inside and get a near exact feel of what it’s like to use a Diamond FSTD. NEW! Skywings Flight Training, a leading Belgium-based flight academy, recently took receipt of two new #DiamondAircraft DA40 NG aircraft at our headquarters in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. 🛫 The new single-engine #DA40 NG aircraft are the first of four that Diamond will provide Skywings in 2024, adding to the four Diamond aircraft already in the flight school’s fleet. The aircraft will be used to train future airline pilots at Skywings’ bases in Antwerp, Belgium, and Alicante, Spain. Link in the comments for more! #WeFlyDiamondAircraft 💎✈️

🛩️ 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗯 - 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝘀 🌱 At the IFA - Institut für Fahrzeugantriebe und Automobiltechnik, in collaboration with our project partners Diamond Aircraft and Austro Engine GmbH, we have successfully conducted our first test flights as part of the "SAF Air Lab" project, funded by the FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH. 🛩️ In this endeavor, we established a "flight lab" by integrating, among other components, advanced in-cylinder pressure and exhaust gas measurement technologies into a Diamond Aircraft DA42 light aircraft. 🛠️ The primary objective is to evaluate and analyze the performance of SAFs (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) under real-world flight conditions, while also exploring additional potential through targeted modifications in engine control. 🔬 🌱 The focus of this measurement campaign was on the blending ratio of the SBC (Synthetic Blending Component) of HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids), a fuel derived from sources such as used cooking oil (certified in accordance with ASTM D7566, Annex A2). The blending ratio was increased from the usual maximum of 50% to 100% HEFA. ⚡ 🌿 For our colleagues from the IFA, Florian Kleissner and Christian Reitmayr, participating in the setup and execution of the “flight lab” was an especially valuable and enriching scientific experience. 👨🔬 Together, we have taken another significant step towards sustainability and CO2 neutrality. 🌍 Learn more about the “SAF Air Lab” project: https://lnkd.in/dzucxAaX 📸 DA 📸 IFA
