Reaching new heights in Toronto! 🚀 We are part of the construction of Canada’s tallest office building at 141 Bay Street, Toronto. Standing at 243 meters, this 50-storey tower is part of the CIBC Square complex, known for its innovative architecture and sustainability features, including Canada's first elevated park, which connects the two towers above a rail corridor. 🌱 Such an ambitious project comes with various challenges: “The cantilevered, atypical slab edge design, which changed the floor plate at each level, was our biggest challenge in supporting the windscreen,” said Brian Walton, General Superintendent for EllisDon. That’s why the General Contractor turned to Doka. 🏗 To protect against wind and debris, the building features our Protection Screen Xclimb 60 with Xbright inlay. This system provides full safety enclosure while allowing natural light into the work area. For the first time in Canada, a Doka Xbright inlay was utilized, adding a splash of yellow to Toronto's skyline. Renovating Germany’s longest highway bridge while keeping traffic flowing. 🏗 At nearly 4 km long, the Hochstraße Elbmarsch (K20) is the backbone of Hamburg’s A7 highway and a vital link for European transit. Built in the 1970s, the six-lane bridge has become a daily bottleneck for thousands of commuters and freight vehicles. To ensure the region stays connected, it’s undergoing a major transformation: a full renovation and expansion to eight lanes – all while keeping traffic flowing. Faced with limited space and the challenge of maintaining three lanes of traffic in both directions, the STRABAG construction team needed an innovative approach. Together, we created something entirely new: our ParaTop cantilever formwork was transformed into a mobile formwork traveller, capable of folding in and out in all four directions to adapt to the bridge’s complex geometry and constraints. This custom-designed system was engineered to navigate the tightest spaces. Whether working over the Rugenberger Hafen or adapting to the bridge’s geometric constraints, it ensured construction could progress without compromising safety or disrupting the flow of traffic. When deadlines are tight, and construction space is limited: Overcoming the challenges of building the MedUni Campus in Vienna. 🚀 In the heart of Vienna, the future of research and education is taking shape. The new MedUni Campus Mariannengasse will unite pre-clinical facilities that were previously scattered across the district, creating a state-of-the-art hub for innovation. Spanning 35,000 square metres dedicated to world-class research, teaching, and learning, the campus is set to welcome 750 scientists and around 2,000 students by the end of 2026. However, bringing this vision to life is no ordinary task. The teams at VASKO+PARTNER INGENIEURE ZT and GERSTL BAU took on the challenge of constructing such an ambitious project in the city centre. 🏗 A large-scale construction site like this, involving 600–800 people working simultaneously, demands precise coordination and efficient resource management. For Gerstl Bau, minimising the amount of material on-site while ensuring steady progress was a critical priority. To tackle these challenges, Concremote was introduced - recommended to Gerstl Bau by Oliver Gusella, Managing Director at Vasko+Partner. Concremote uses real-time data to monitor the strength of concrete, enabling the construction team to optimise workflows, reduce waiting times, and remove formwork at the ideal moment.
