Joanna’s motto is clear: “There’s nothing to lose from trying out new things – only benefits!” She encouraged us to step beyond our comfort zones, as we always regret the things we did not do, not the things that we did. Romania’s renewable energy sector has seen significant growth in the past few years and it offers further potential to achieve the planned climate neutrality in the year 2050. Therefore, Erste Group is proud to support this path towards climate neutrality with the latest project of Nala Renewables, a global power and renewable energy investment platform and independent power producer. Nala Renewables acquired a 99.2 MW onshore wind project from OX2, a leading company in the development and construction of renewable energy solutions active across Europe and Australia. The project is located in eastern-Romania and is expected to start construction during Q3 2024. The project is expected to become operational during the first half of 2026 and will then provide around 312 GWh of renewable energy, equivalent to the energy demand of about 90,000 households. The project significantly contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals*. The financing for this project is provided by Erste Group Bank AG together with BCR. * Calculated by Nala using UNFCCC IFI Default Grid Factors

Holidays and internships go hand in hand 🤝 Starting an internship is always exciting, just ask our 300 summer interns! Interested students, from schools and universities alike, have the opportunity to take a deep dive into our daily doings and apply their theoretical knowledge. Two of our summer interns shared their experiences with us: “From day one, I've felt very welcomed in my team. The tasks are both exciting and enriching, providing me with practical experience that greatly benefits my studies”, our People & Culture intern Lisa told us. Sebastian, our IT-intern, also shared some thoughts about his internship: “I have the feeling that the tasks I fulfill are beneficial to the company.
