New agroforestry venture for Africa: Launching "Galileo" 🌍 Last month, our colleague Gian L. Nicolay traveled to Senegal for the launch of the Galileo project. The project aims to boost rural livelihoods and climate resilience through innovative agroforestry. After a successful project kick-off, project partners visited Living Labs in Niakhar and Ouarkhokh, engaging with stakeholders and researchers from Kenya, Cameroon, and Senegal. This five-day field visit strengthened collaborations and set the stage for new research questions focusing on innovative agroforestry integrating people as elements of research through Social Sciences and Humanities. 👉 Learn more about the Galileo project: https://lnkd.in/diZKBM-r The Galileo project is led by CIRAD and funded by the European Commission’s Horizon programme and the Swiss Confederation. FiBL’s contribution will focus on socioeconomic research on agroforestry policies and model agroforestry systems under different climate scenarios.
