𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐏𝐖𝐑 🙌 The PPWR, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, is considered a milestone on the path to more sustainable packaging and less packaging waste in the EU. Reusable and recyclable packaging should become the standard. The regulation also aims to harmonize packaging standards and requirements across the EU and improve environmental protection. The planned reusable quotas and the ban on certain single-use packaging will particularly affect some industries: in addition to the food industry, this includes the hospitality and hotel sectors. This virtual event centered around the opportunities and challenges we face as we work to deliver sustainable solutions for our customers. 💡 Kicking off the event, Climate Economist Gernot Wagner set the tone with his powerful talk, emphasizing the urgent need to act regarding the growing risks of climate change. He also highlighted the potential of technology and innovation, which businesses can leverage to ensure future success. ♻️ Harald Friedl, Circular Economy Expert, took us deeper into the conversation with his talk, "Circularity – Way more than recycling," showcasing the full potential of the circular economy. 🔄 To top it off, Caroline Studwick and Mads Nybo, researchers from the Health Innovation Centre of Southern Denmark, gave an insightful presentation on recycling within the healthcare industry and our CEO Saori Dubourg closed by showing that our future needs a better design to create long-lasting #value. The RecyClass certification, based on EU Regulation No. 2022/1616, is a key standard for evaluating the recyclability of plastic packaging. 🌍 Greiner Cleanup Day 2024: Making a Difference Together! ♻️ This week we celebrated World Cleanup Day by coming together to take action against environmental pollution. 💪 A motivated team of 22 colleagues from the Greiner Packaging and Greiner Assistec headquarters gathered to clean up the municipal area of Sattledt. Divided into smaller groups, we spent two hours collecting waste around our company’s neighborhood. The result? Full bags of trash - and a stark reminder of how much litter is carelessly left in nature. At Greiner Packaging, Health and Safety is not just a priority—it's a core value. 🌿  We are thrilled to highlight the incredible work being done by María Pita Landa, Quality Manager at the Greiner Assistec site in Monterrey, Mexico. Each year, María coordinates several health initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our employees. This year alone, she has organized training sessions on diabetes and high blood pressure, both met with great enthusiasm. Looking ahead to the fall, María is spearheading a breast cancer awareness campaign, another key issue that has garnered a lot of interest. These health programs offer valuable information, training, and a space to ask questions—ensuring everyone has the tools they need to stay healthy.
